It's a rough time to gauge Hybrid performance in a lot of places. From what I'm reading, the engine in the hybrid takes a pretty severe nose dive in sub-freezing temps. Might be a better check-in once spring rolls around. I'm sub 30, closer to 25 overall, but I've yet to put more than 3 miles on my truck above 32 degrees.

We live in Mn. Last year was first Summer with the 2022 hybrid. 32-37 were common. Winter dropped 27-29 mpg. Driving out to Arizona 24-28 mpg but average speed was 65-75. Couldn't expect any more mpg than that.

Right now it shows 27.5mpg but I just got it last week. It has been slowly going up everyday. So we will see how it is after the first tank. Also it has been very cold out.

I've averaged about 30 mpg, mostly city, with about 250 miles on the Mav. However, it's too cold to provide good data as our temps have ranged from -4F to 35F. When it was 35F, I got right around the epa estimate of 40 city & 33 highway, but in the 20s and below it dropped to high 20s (when it was -4F out) to lower 30s. That drop isn't terribly out of line for what I experiecned with my Prius V. I say the drop is a bit more than my Prius due to taking the engine longer to heatup, and the time to heatup the lithium ion batteries vs the Prius' nimh batteries that operated at much colder temps.

I am a little tired of running with the heat off. It is around 38 degrees, + -, from day to day, not bad, it is February, so, but not getting the mileage I expected from a hybrid. Averaging around 33 -36. I was getting that in my 22' Ecoboost. There is about 300 miles on it so far, so it may get better. Frostbit fingers to save gas. What a dope!!!

The heated wheel and seats were a must for me knowing HVAC operations impacts hybrid efficiency.

If only I had known.
I totally lucked out. The lux package was the last thing on my mind and I had spec'd out several XL's with just a tow hitch and 360. If I hadn't gotten a deal I would be driving with my ski gloves on!

well.. your final comment kind of addressed what many of us were already thinking.

but WHY are you doing that? even if you were doing 1000 miles a week, using the heater even if it puts you below 30 mpg is not that costly, it's a lot more comfortable, and you need it anyway to keep the interior from fogging up.

Being in Kentucky you'll be fine 9 months out of the year. A cheap fix is a good pair of winter driving gloves (which without the vinyl wrap I would want anyhow).

I don' t know what I am doing wrong. I am getting 19.8mpg. It is a new 2025 2.0 EB with now 377 miles after almost 3 weeks. Don't think I am driving it enough yet to gage it correctly. Started from delivery at 15.3mpg with 18 miles already on it.
respectfully, the first thing you're doing wrong is posting in a hybrid fuel economy thread about your ecoboost mileage.

if you drive fast on the highway, with winter fuel, you will get mid/low 20s. best to find an ecoboost thread and ask further questions there if you really want to, but I'd just drive it.
