Let's just see how it plays out. In the meantime we can all wait to buy a new car until January 2029 when things could POSSIBLY change. Or not. After all, we are the ones making the decisions. Was that non political enough?

You're totally right. But mine's on order and I'm drooling over the pictures . . . will be interesting to see what happens . . . wondering if I can hold my dealer's feet to the fire with a signed sales contract in hand . . . hoping so . . .This just further cements my decision to simply hold onto to what I have. I'm done trying to look for another Maverick. I've been keeping an eye out for a Hybrid after my sour experience with my local dealer. The two main reasons were one, for better fuel efficiency and two, to enjoy the new Sync 4 screen and upgraded tech.
However, all of this has made me realize what's really important. None of this is a need, it's a want and there's a huge difference. With the threats of tariffs going into place as soon as tomorrow, it just makes better sense to hold onto to what I have. Same goes for anyone else. Plus, I have a nice car. It has everything I need and nothing more.
And this isn't just about cars and the Maverick specifically. It's going to affect everything we consume. Groceries, electronics, clothes, appliances, you name it. Now is a better time than ever to keep whatever you have going for as long as possible. The phones, computers, cars, anything that can be serviced rather than replaced would be highly advisable.
Sure, you don't have to take my advice. You can do whatever you want. I'm just trying to save people money in the long run.
I agree, but do we apply the law to the employer or whine about the border?? If we are imposing this tariff because of fentanyl coming in, maybe we, in a bipartisan manner should control sales within the U.S. We have failed at curbing the demand. Migrants and fentanyl coming to the U.S. is nothing more than a supply filling a demand. The employers should know. You either have a work permit/green card or you don't. Pretty simple.
MANY employers don't give a damn. If you work cheap and don't complain, they could couldn't care less. They don't have to pay Social Security, health care, pensions, sick leave, vacation pay and a litany of other costs that LEGAL employees do.The employers should know. You either have a work permit/green card or you don't. Pretty simple.
YES!! The fentanyl problem has been solved and so easily too... Lets all have a toast to our success with a big glass of Kool-Aid!!10k Mexican troops sent North to the border is all it took for a tariff pause...

I had the same feeling...Yep! I knew that would happen.
It's too bad Ford can't produce a hybrid Maverick that uses greenhouse gas.Note: there was no comment made on the GREENHOUSE GAS Production.
