Let's just see how it plays out. In the meantime we can all wait to buy a new car until January 2029 when things could POSSIBLY change. Or not. After all, we are the ones making the decisions. Was that non political enough?

This just further cements my decision to simply hold onto to what I have. I'm done trying to look for another Maverick. I've been keeping an eye out for a Hybrid after my sour experience with my local dealer. The two main reasons were one, for better fuel efficiency and two, to enjoy the new Sync 4 screen and upgraded tech.

However, all of this has made me realize what's really important. None of this is a need, it's a want and there's a huge difference. With the threats of tariffs going into place as soon as tomorrow, it just makes better sense to hold onto to what I have. Same goes for anyone else. Plus, I have a nice car. It has everything I need and nothing more.

And this isn't just about cars and the Maverick specifically. It's going to affect everything we consume. Groceries, electronics, clothes, appliances, you name it. Now is a better time than ever to keep whatever you have going for as long as possible. The phones, computers, cars, anything that can be serviced rather than replaced would be highly advisable.

Sure, you don't have to take my advice. You can do whatever you want. I'm just trying to save people money in the long run.
You're totally right. But mine's on order and I'm drooling over the pictures . . . will be interesting to see what happens . . . wondering if I can hold my dealer's feet to the fire with a signed sales contract in hand . . . hoping so . . .

The employers should know. You either have a work permit/green card or you don't. Pretty simple.
I agree, but do we apply the law to the employer or whine about the border?? If we are imposing this tariff because of fentanyl coming in, maybe we, in a bipartisan manner should control sales within the U.S. We have failed at curbing the demand. Migrants and fentanyl coming to the U.S. is nothing more than a supply filling a demand.

Should this "solution" raise the price of a Maverick or any other good which I want/need?:unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure:

No tariffs for Mexico now being reported. Now that overpriced Maverick won't be more overpriced.

MANY employers don't give a damn. If you work cheap and don't complain, they could couldn't care less. They don't have to pay Social Security, health care, pensions, sick leave, vacation pay and a litany of other costs that LEGAL employees do.

Again, watch the peso to dollar exchange rate, barely moving more that 1% since the election. Even yesterday's drop triggered a steeper temporary fall in the DOW, (2%) than it did the peso (1%). Both are better today, with the peso actually up.

I think the price of the Mavericks will be fine...

Well, Canada beefed up border security as well as started helicopter patrols and it it hasn't done a damn thing for us. He'll honour the free trade agreement with them and not with us?

How legit would Mexico change if we did tariffs on them? Like collapsing overnight or something? I’m not sure how important we are to them.
They get paid like 8 dollars a day at ford right? Doesn’t seem like much
