Why is nobody making interior door sill protectors for the inside plastic area as well as the door kick panel and seatbelt pillar. These are some of the plastic interior high scratch areas of the maverick most everyone complains about. There is so many great products for the exterior but nothing for the interior other than knob covers and phone holders. This is a real problem, maybe some don't care about the interior scratches but I know I do. This maverick interior scratches if you look at it the wrong way. See below.

For my test I used clear ppf type material because I still wanted the color to show through.

Dang, Ron, are those the "before scratches" pictures? ;) They look pretty good, to me at least. The one looks like there could be something going on beind the seatbelt a little, but otherwise, whatever you're doing is working.

I agree, though, that area does get marked up. I won't even show you mine. 😕

Thanks I tried that it does not stick well for me. I had hoped for a more finished look but I do appreciate your response and your DIY. I was hoping for something that would stick on and could easily be cleaned that wont easily scratch. Maybe I am asking for too much. I remember 45 years ago when door kick panels had carpet on them to avoid scratches. This has been a problem for a long time. There is one company doing the door kick panel protectors in carbon fiber on eBay just not sure I wanted the carbon fiber look although it is not bad. There may be no choice and it's not a bad choice. That would leave the other 2 area's I mentioned unprotected and scratched.

Thanks Jeff, I am the only one in the truck right now and I do a make shift cover towels ect. I have another truck I use for my daily. I want to use this truck more, then I will have my wife and grand kids in it. They won't be as careful as me they are all much more relaxed which is a good thing, hard for me to change to normal.

I installed the test materials before July 4th 24. To this day, no problem with them sticking. Site prep is key for good product adhesion.

You don't want to hear this but there is pretty much zero chance your Mav will come out unscathed if you let kids in.

They just don't care. It's not that fault, they just aren't wired that way (yet).

First day of ownership my wife put a 2' long scratch on the passenger door panel. I covered them up with packing tape as well as the seatbelt area, and put silicone covers on the seatbelt buckles.

I'll buy a '28 if Ford fixes the interior.

Oh I know about this. My wife has knees replacement and when she opens the door, it opens only say, 1/2 way. Then swings legs out and kicking that lower area to open door fully wide. I keep telling her not to do that!! But falls on deaf ears. My F250 had some kind of thick clear plastic covering at the rear lower curve section of the fender, prob to stop road stones from peppering the paint. I would like to find something like that to add to the door panel to stop her scratching of the panel.

Of course I prob can get out before she does, open the door for her, to keep her from opening the door with her darn foot. But she prob beat me opening….

I've actually used these pads to place/stick in areas that scratch easily and they've worked well. I agree with you that I wish they'd create something more custom, but for now this was the best I could come up with. I didn't place them on the door sills, for obvious reasons, but anywhere else I cut them to fit and it didn't look terrible (at least not to me)

Was just thinking about this yesterday. bumped my wet shoe on the door panel and thought, "I wish Mabett or somebody else would make something to protect this area."

🤓 I don’t have that problem, but came up with a thought , how about that stuff that they use for Clear bras? Stretched some of that over the area you’re concerned about.
