As I was driving to work in October, I was in a collision with another vehicle. No one was hurt, thank God! But my Mav was totaled! I would have replaced the Mav with another Mav but decided to get a Ranger. It's not as cool as my AWD Mav, but it's fun too...and a little more space. Maybe one day I'll trade it in for another Maverick.

Interesting you say it has a little more space. I sat in a 25 Ranger the other day and it felt like it had a little less space than the Maverick. I see yours is pre redesign so maybe those have a little larger interior vs the 24 and newer Rangers?

He could be talking width or room in the bed. I don't see that much difference. It doesn't matter as long as he is happy, he is the one footing the bill. Me I would opt for the Maverick because of handling, mpg, ride, easy ingress egress, loading or unloading the bed, parking, manueverability, safety etc. If I needed to tow more I would have to sacrifice some of the advantages the Maverick offers.

Specific dimensions (based on SuperCrew cab configuration):
Maverick:
Front Headroom: 40.3 inches, Front Legroom: 42.8 inches, Rear Legroom: 35.9 inches
Ranger:
Front Headroom: 39.8 inches, Front Legroom: 43.1 inches, Rear Legroom: 34.5 inches

Just happy to hear no one got hurt and he found something to replace it.

If you're happy with what you are driving that is all that matters at the end of the day. Enjoy and hope to see you back to Maverick land again in the future.

That’s a tough situation, but it sounds like the Ranger is still a solid choice. It’s always nice to have a little more space. Maybe down the line, you’ll get that Mav back – you never know

I sold a 20 Ranger to buy the first Maverick and it was a nice truck but the new Maverick checked more boxes (for me) and when Ford no longer offered an ext cab Ranger I kept buying Mavericks.
Having said that the Ranger had a little more meat on its bones, towed considerably more, bigger bed, etc. Used more gas (22-23 combined) and my pet peeve was I couldn't reach in the bed from the side to reach most items. lol

I haven't got my tape measure but I'd estimate a few inches.

I would agree that at best it’s a wash. I did not fit well in the 2024 Ranger I ordered.
