A simple mathematical Solution:
Less complainy on forum.
More drivey of truck.
= more happier owner.

Every time I jump in the Maverick and bust some bugs on the windshield, I have a smile on my face. It has more cool features than my old truck. The purchase is done and in the rearview mirror. I was satisfied at the time and I’m not going to look back and start thinking that I could have done better.
I really enjoy my Maverick truck Now. I will still enjoy it tomorrow.

When I traded in my 2016 BMW for my 22 Maverick I could tell the dealer thought they were taking me for a ride.... I was doing cartwheels as they took it away !!!:cwl:

Blah blah blah. This ain't a truck. It's a good version. But it is an SUV MINI with a bed. Due to demand it is ridiculously priced. I like the idea and wanted an economy car. This fits the bill so I don't have to wear out my real truck. I don't understand the excitement like this is a special addition super car people are willing to get jacked from. Many recalls. Why do owners wave to me. It's not all that, it's a poor man's price hiked truck.
Even with the price increases it's still one of the most inexpensive vehicles and then you toss in the utility off it and nothing else is even close.

I think the real title of this thread should be “Don’t trade in a 1 year old vehicle for the same one unless you’re okay with taking a bath on it”.

To think this applies only to Mavericks is ridiculous. You can say the same thing about 99% of cars in the past 50 years, except for the crazy pandemic times. That shit is in the past, people need to get over it. If you try to do this with a BMw/Mercedes you would probably faint if you think the hit you would take here is so bad. And of course you’re going to be hit with massive depreciation. I’m sure you’ve heard countless times before “ you lose $X The second you drive a new car off the lot.” It’s not a secret.

I sold my 23 Tremor for a 25, but I knew ahead of time that it wasn’t the most financially wise decision and was okay with it.

You're missing your own point.

You don't understand the excitement because you're "real truck" guy is negating the guy who bought the maverick. Generally when people put the world "real" in front of anything it means it's linked to ego and status classification for them. "Real trucks" have become bloated overpriced "special edition" status crap just like super cars.

The maverick is popular because people who don't want to overpay could have a more practical truck vs an expensive status symbol. They could have a practical everyday car and do some truck stuff on the weekends. Yard cleanup, move some stuff a bed handles better, etc.

Yup it's a "truck" people don't have to downgrade it so you feel better about your "real truck" status. It does truck things, in fact the biggest classification for being a truck is probably having a bed, that's it. Everything else is arguable, tow capacity, body on frame, 4 wheel drive, etc. I'm sure there are super duty and dually people who think regular F-150s etc aren't "real trucks". Some purists may think anything with a crew cab or short bed isn't a "real truck".

The price hikes suck and I personally wouldn't buy it in more than XLT trim before considering a larger more capable vehicle. However, the low end models around $30k still seem a lot more functional than an SUV and other stuff in that range.

What a misleading and vague title to a post. Didn’t trade another Mav in but very happy with my synch 4, AWD Hybrid with 4k 🤘

Boy, many people seem to be willing to pay any price and somehow justify it in their own mind. I'm not buying into it. Pay more for everything if you like.
Are you lonely or do you just have nothing better to do?

Why are you even here?

Lmao "muh real truck" homie should've bought a 2003 Corolla by the sounds of it.

Here in Canada we say you drop 30% the moment it leaves the lot, and until mid way through 2020, that was true

The AWD Lariat I ordered way back in early September finally arrived today. Unfortunately, I decided not to buy it. I have a 2024 Lariat hybrid now with just 2,900 miles on it in virtually showroom condition. The dealer's offer was a pathetic $30K so when it was all send and done with taxes, registration, etc., I would still be stuck with just over $10K! I felt I got screwed on an immaculate, very low mileage F-150 Super Crew that I traded in for my "24" and told myself it won't happen again! I wanted the "25" for the all-wheel drive, the larger screen and cameras all around rather than just in back. To me, those weren't worth $10K. I really like my "24", its overall 44 mpg to date, it's handling, it being actually fun to drive, and not having to search forever finding a parking spot at Home Depot or WalMart! So yes, I'm quite disappointed after waiting 4 months and not being able make the purchase. Finally, if you're planning on trading in your older Maverick, BEWARE! And be prepared to "bend over" you could say.
Actually $30k is a great offer. You need to look at the fact that you have a previous generation truck and nobody is going to pay almost the same as a new generation vehicle. If you had a 2023 and was trading in for a 2024 before the 2025's came out, your complaint might be more understandable.
One more note, due to the recall on 2024's, there are HUNDREDS of them at the dealerships that they can't sell, when they are fixed, dealers will have to DEEPLY DISCOUNT them to sell. This will drive the resale of a used one down even more.
My recommendation would be to just enjoy your truck until the next generation comes out and trade in at that time.

I’m basically in the same boat. My 25 just came in. I ordered it because of the AWD hybrid with tow package. I went to test drive it today. I just didn’t get that same excitement I had with my 22. Maybe because the 22 was such an amazing deal. Some parts of the 25 seemed cheaper like the white plastic on the front of the dash by the screen. Also what physical buttons are there is actually just one piece of plastic and not actual individual buttons.
My 2025 Lariat was delivered last week. I'm finding it hard to justify the $40K price tag as well.

even my dealer is discounting the 25's already. 5k more he can upgrade here. + tax

I ended up getting the trade in price I wanted for my 22 so I'm getting it. I have x plan so it helps a little. 34k for my 25 XLT. Though it's at the top end I would want to pay for a Maverick. Like everyone says all the trims basically have the same cheap interior.
