The AWD Lariat I ordered way back in early September finally arrived today. Unfortunately, I decided not to buy it. I have a 2024 Lariat hybrid now with just 2,900 miles on it in virtually showroom condition. The dealer's offer was a pathetic $30K so when it was all send and done with taxes, registration, etc., I would still be stuck with just over $10K! I felt I got screwed on an immaculate, very low mileage F-150 Super Crew that I traded in for my "24" and told myself it won't happen again! I wanted the "25" for the all-wheel drive, the larger screen and cameras all around rather than just in back. To me, those weren't worth $10K. I really like my "24", its overall 44 mpg to date, it's handling, it being actually fun to drive, and not having to search forever finding a parking spot at Home Depot or WalMart! So yes, I'm quite disappointed after waiting 4 months and not being able make the purchase. Finally, if you're planning on trading in your older Maverick, BEWARE! And be prepared to "bend over" you could say.

I don’t see how that’s a good post on don’t trade for 24 to 25, yes it’s financial in your case. But that doesn’t reflect the actual upgrades from 24 to 25 in any actual quality.

of course you’ll lose on your ass on 24 model. It’s brand new.

now I have seen tons of post here and on fb and reddit of people selling 22/23 into 25 and they are ecstatic with the upgrades.

unfortunately you just bought the wrong year if you did want a 25

I assume you enjoy your Maverick tho otherwise why would you want a 25? Drive the wheels off it

I’m basically in the same boat. My 25 just came in. I ordered it because of the AWD hybrid with tow package. I went to test drive it today. I just didn’t get that same excitement I had with my 22. Maybe because the 22 was such an amazing deal. Some parts of the 25 seemed cheaper like the white plastic on the front of the dash by the screen. Also what physical buttons are there is actually just one piece of plastic and not actual individual buttons.

I'm sorry, but some of these posts recently seem to have ZERO thought put into them $30k isn't THAT bad. That's normal depreciation for a USED car. They have to sell it, and No one's going to buy it used for $35k when you can get a brand new updated model for not much more.

The pandemic car flipping times are over, and have been for a while now. Welcome to the real world

people also need to get over the "$20,000" truck mentality. Ford underpriced it at the absolute worst time (for them) due to the shutdowns. You can't get a damn thing new for $20k anymore (hell most new cars under $30k right are piles of straight garbage)--people need to let that shit go.

It's not 2022 anymore, it's a depreciating asset, welcome to the real world of vehicle ownership.

Honestly, $30k sounds like a pretty fair offer for a dealer trade, and is right in line with the book value. Perhaps another dealer might offer you slightly more, who knows, but this doesn't seem like a lowball offer at all. I wouldn't call it pathetic, anyway. But I agree with you, spending $10k on a slightly newer truck would be a hefty price tag. You could sell it yourself and get a bit more, if you want to do that. You'd maybe get that difference down to $5-6k, but that's probably as close as you'll get.

I just picked up my 25 a few days ago, which I ordered at the end of August. If I'd already had a 24, I wouldn't even have been thinking about a brand new one. That's just me though.

Part of that price is 2220 for the AWD that you didn't buy on the 24. Besides the AWD you have the new model year price increase. You also have sales tax on the 25 so that's all part of the 10,000 difference.

Sounds like you got a nice truck with low mileage so do you really need the AWD, sync 4, larger screen, digital display, and cameras?

Not sure in Washington but here in Michigan with rain snow etc even the backup camera sucks. I have to wipe it clean before getting in the vehicle or you can not see out of it. Don't get me wrong I like it on good days just we don't get many here right now. Even days it doesn't snow there is enough slop left on the roads to cover the lens. It's frustrating for me because my 16 year old vehicle i replaced did not have it. Sometimes I wonder what good is it, except really appreciate it hooking up to my trailers.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

You'll always get "screwed" if you trade in a year old vehicle....

Also on another note, what did you pay a year ago, and what did you hope to get for it?
Here's why I'm PO'd. CarMax offered me $33K for it which is just about mid KB trade in value of a little over $32. They're going to make money on selling it and the dealer is making a profit on my trade in as well as the knew one! I didn't sell it to them because in my state the sales tax is based on the sale of a vehicle MINUS a trade in. The difference is quite substantial as I live in a high sales tax state, a tax on around $38K versus just $5635. And, like I said, I still like my truck a great deal!

offer was low on a Lariat ...but dealers are lowballing you. Granger does the same..his trade valuee are laughable
Options: straight up sale but you need at least 33k cash to break even with dealer trade offer, Take the L, negotiate new car price down or look for a different dealer and buy an abandoned order if they pay better for the trade

Sounds to me like you need to move.

I sold my 23 XL to Carvana and got $600 more than I paid new it had 28k miles on it, and I made $20k driving it. Being that the bumper to bumper was almost up, I decided to take the profit. I would gladly buy a 25 Hybrid in EG.
