Just called the dealership on this unit. It was discounted as a FLEET PRICE and was not purchased. They are in the process of flipping it back to retail and the discount will GO AWAY. It will be sold at MSRP.
thats bs.

lame
maybe thats why they have like 15-20 on the lot. they should honor their pricing advertised

It's a truck. Read the registration or look at the license plate.
...ok, did I miss something here? I agree it's a truck, that's why I have one being built.

I agree, he said they didn't mind the refusal because they need 2025's on the retail lot. 🤷‍♂️

I would assume if they have 15 or 20 of them on their lot, they are 2.0 Turbos. I did a search within 500 miles (most it would let me go) a few days ago for a AWD Hybrid Lariat with the towing package and couldn't find ONE. I was only looking because my order was delayed again during shipping.... Thank goodness it made it.

You're missing your own point.

You don't understand the excitement because you're "real truck" guy is negating the guy who bought the maverick. Generally when people put the world "real" in front of anything it means it's linked to ego and status classification for them. "Real trucks" have become bloated overpriced "special edition" status crap just like super cars.

The maverick is popular because people who don't want to overpay could have a more practical truck vs an expensive status symbol. They could have a practical everyday car and do some truck stuff on the weekends. Yard cleanup, move some stuff a bed handles better, etc.

Yup it's a "truck" people don't have to downgrade it so you feel better about your "real truck" status. It does truck things, in fact the biggest classification for being a truck is probably having a bed, that's it. Everything else is arguable, tow capacity, body on frame, 4 wheel drive, etc. I'm sure there are super duty and dually people who think regular F-150s etc aren't "real trucks". Some purists may think anything with a crew cab or short bed isn't a "real truck".

The price hikes suck and I personally wouldn't buy it in more than XLT trim before considering a larger more capable vehicle. However, the low end models around $30k still seem a lot more functional than an SUV and other stuff in that range.
Ah a psychologist. I'm not putting it down. Putting it in its place. I like the idea but Ford is short on the execution and high on the price. They are slowly fixing it as they go. Sorry I don't run falling on my face with my wallet out. It's a mini truck thingamajig. I've owned some before this one.

Are you lonely or do you just have nothing better to do?

You are better off buying off the lot. More negotiating power than ordering and trading in.

Ordering and trading puts the ball in dealers court.

if they sell 2025 under $20K then i would trade my 22 in a heart beat. Otherwise, I'm waiting for something more worthwhile in the future. Toyota are you listening?

I'm not either, I just play one on the internet 🤣.
I do enjoy the psychology of how we are all manipulated by marketing, sales, labels companies create and some we create ourselves. Sometimes I enjoy railing against those memes which sales prey on.

Sorry, I tried to edit some of my post to say "they" vs "you" but I did a poor job. You're post triggered a response to a lot of "real truck" misnomers on this forum, but I recognize you yourself have put a little more thought into it. Having both the Mav and a more capable truck knowing they have different strengths.

You're point about "not falling on your face with your wallet out" is very valid. So many things have gone absolutely bonkers the last few years and you can indeed point a finger back to individuals without restraint. The SNL skit posted on this thread is funny & sad at the same time.

For the record, I ordered and waited for an XL with a $100 hitch. Because I also believe in voting with my wallet. My 20yo existing car gave up the ghost. I limped it along until my order came in because I refused to pay markup.

Trading in a vehicle is the exact same as selling it wholesale. Expect to pay a price for the convenience of a quick turnover and that price is not cheap.
