As I await my new 2025 Tremor, I realize the Maverick mentality has changed significantly. I became a fan in 2021 when the Maverick was first announced and received one of the first XLT FX4s delivered in Southern California. I'm still driving it today, and it meets all my needs. When I bought it in 2022, I was on a tight budget. Things have improved, and I recently ordered my dream Maverick—the new Tremor. Living in Baja, I have access to vast off-road terrain.

A few weeks ago, I posted how $40,000 is the new normal for Mavericks. Reflecting on this and seeing the comments, I've noticed a shift in pride of ownership. While we're spending more, the recent upgrades have enhanced the vehicle's quality and appeal.

The perception has moved from seeing it as just a cool, affordable truck to recognizing it as a well-engineered vehicle that justifies its higher price.

I also bought a 2022 hybrid one of the first orders. Have love my truck and what I paid for it.
I prob don’t fit the current Maverick demographic. Female and sixty plus.
Im going to get a 2025 fx4. To tow my boat, get up to the mountains…
Live my best life. Go boomers!

To me it seems like a lot of these posts are made to help people justify these new price tags.

It's 85% same truck as original.
Is it upgraded, in some regards yes but let's wait for a full refresh and get a 85% new truck.

You say it's a much nicer truck, but I've yet to see any meaningful improvements in the build quality. And at these prices, that would be a problem for me.

The 43k Mavericks today are built the same way my 33k truck back in 2021 was built. And my 33k truck is built the same way as the 20k trucks were in 2021 and 2022.

Like other folks above me said, we all want to justify our purchases, no matter what we buy.

I gotta disagree. Well kinda. I think it loses its special once it reaches those levels. Absolutely no way I personally can justify a 40k maverick. When the f-150 are getting close to that price. Owning both a 23 150 and a 24 maverick they are no where near each other when it come to bang for buck. I think it lost its special. And for me I was always amazed at how well engineered it was for the price. So maybe I’m off a bit.

But if money was not an object at all or living in a different area where the bigger truck would be a hassle. I would love a tremor. In fact all I wish they would add to the xl is the rdu from the tremor and is buy another tomorrow to replace my perfectly good truck I live.
Can’t wait to see you doing some off roading in your new one. Can’t imagine how good it can be as I’m shock at how much mine has been through.

So basically that 100k F-150 is built the same way as the 40k version I guess you could say that about every vehicle. I personally like to buy vehicles that are built at plants with quality awards.

I have very little concerns with the quality of the assembly. And that was for a truck manufactured in late 2021, one of the first to roll off the line. But the provided fit and finish as a result of a race to the bottom is poor. Dash rattles, door rattles, etc.

Just an example, here's the difference between a 25k Maverick's door card and a 43k Maverick's door card.

Lariat:
Ford Maverick The New Maverick Mentality 1737306583011-a2

XL:
Ford Maverick The New Maverick Mentality 1737306720820-45

See any quality improvements? All I see is a different elbow rest and different colors. Oh, and how could I forget the B&O logo that sits in a cutout that they couldn't even make a separate part for on the XL? :D

The only meaningful change to the interior was the screen upgrade and sync 4. The only meaningful upgrade to the exterior is...??? I don't even know.

The biggest difference was the addition of an AWD hybrid, which is nice.

You can still buy a fairly inexpensive Maverick but it's now 30k not 20k. For 30k, I'd expect much better interior quality (plastics).

Nothing has changed for me.
There are needs, and there are wants.
An XL meets my needs. An XLT more than meets my needs.
I'd love to afford a Lariat.

I'd love to have one each hybrid, ecoboost... lobo, tremor, etc.

For now... i appreciate what i got.

LMAO a separate part for the XL. That's a good idea, can't imagine how much ford would spend just to have different molds for XL and XLT.

Point being in this example is that it is the same door with color changes only. From an aesthetic point of view the 40k lariat interior you have the same basic parts with color changes only. There are no additional decoration panels, no additional soft touch parts, nothing unless there is something I'm not seeing.
