They're not crooks. Dealers buy the vehicles from Ford and legally resell them at whatever price they want to. But you can find another dealer that will not charge more than the Suggested Retail Price.
If you order a truck online at MSRP, then the dealer marks it up, they are a crook.

No markup here, picked up the '25 XL the other day.

I ordered day 1, since then I guess the price has slightly gone up on the '25?

My dealer kept my original ordered MSRP and used a $750 cash incentive that I had no idea I had (no coupon in hand). Bought a few vehicles from this dealer (Minnesota Midway Ford) from factory orders and they've never snuck in fees.

Got a heck of a deal on trade in for my '22 though, pleasantly surprised with how well they maintained value.

If the dealer promised you MSRP out the door price on a vehicle you ordered, then yes. I was referring to orders for lot inventory, ordered by the dealer.

And you cannot actually "order" a vehicle online from Ford. You can do a tentative "build" of a vehicle online. But it is not an order. That build is sent to a dealer, who goes over it with you. Then, if you want it, they actually place the order for you (along with any changes, if wanted), with Ford. They buy the vehicle from Ford and then sell it to you.

So this is the week of my build. No notifications yet.

I am at MSRP, X Plan pricing. Minus Farm Bureau $500 and a $1500 discount from the Seattle Auto Show and my visit to the test drive area.

That is an awesome discount...tell us more about it!
Well I was hoping to get a gander at the 2025 at the Seattle International Auto show. They had the Lobo but it was locked and no one could open it. Meh.

If I went and test drove a new Ford, like the Mach E, F250, and a couple others, you got a $1500 rebate/coupon on any new Ford purchase.

I told them I already ordered up a new Maverick so they just signed me up to get the rebate without a test drive required. Very cool!

I called the dealer and they confirmed that it was in my account, ready to apply.

I am guessing that those who receive these emails from Ford have made prior purchases with Ford.
The 2025 Maverick was my 4th Ford in 3 years and they ghosted me on it!

Dealer Invoice is less than MSRP, right? Do I have that wrong?
You are exactly right. Dealer Invoice is basically what the Dealer pays for it, which is way less than MSRP (sticker).
Many people on this forum use the term "Invoice price" incorrectly.
No dealer is going to sell you a 2025 vehicle at dead invoice. If they did, they would go out of business. If I was buying a 2025 right now I would pretty much expect to pay sticker price for it.
...that's why I bought a new 2024 Mav last week on Dec 27th. They were happy to sell it at a couple honeys over dead invoice to make room for the 2025 they expect to arrive soon and they get to keep the 3% holdback on the unit.

Not true. Granger Ford is selling 2025 Mavericks at 3% below dealers invoice. Many members of MTC have ordered/purchased from Granger. :)

I picked up my Lariat AWD Hybrid from Shults Ford in Pittsburgh on Saturday. I had X Plan pricing. They also applied the $750 rebate I was eligible for but did not know about prior to them applying it. Another plus was the X plan cap to the dealer doc fees which saved me another ~$300. I also saved ~$1600 in taxes by applying the trade in of my 22 mav towards the new one.
