  1. 🚨 Mabett New Product: Maverick Hood Water Barrier Protector

I have quite a few Mabett products and all are pretty great so I am looking forward to these when they become available.
  2. Post YOUR Maverick TRUCKING!

Hehe, well I didn't really care that much. :)
  3. Post YOUR Maverick TRUCKING!

Towed a 6z12 Uhaul trailer from Portland, OR to Lakeside, CA which is about 1100 miles. Trailer was nearly full of my sister-in-laws stuff, moving her to her son's home after my brother-in-law passed away. I estimate it was about 3700lbs all said and done. Towed just fine, no real issues. I...
  4. Hard Bed Covers for Maverick

Just to throw this in the mix. I have been using the Oedro tri-fold hard cover I got off eBay over a year ago. There are various others using them on the forum. So far it has been great! No issues. Get barely any water in the bed even during a real gullywasher.
  5. Most of the time my hybrid works great, but….26.8 mpg is not good

So we just got back from Pullman, WA from my son's graduation. It is about 340 miles back to Olympia. On that trip the temps were in the mid to upper 60's with very light wind. Basically an easy drive. I got 41.3mpg on that trip back. The bed was full of stuff from my son's apartment as well...
  6. 2026 Hybrid Tailgate...

I just went to the dealer and bought the Escape Hybrid AWD badge. Was $13.
  7. 3800 lb trailer, 467 lb tongue weight

Well It was working pretty hard up the passes but on the flats it was OK.
  8. 3800 lb trailer, 467 lb tongue weight

Listen @Mavster Mechanic . I am not going to get into this. Insurance companies have a history of denying claims based to nuances or even outright falsehoods. If you don't believe it, you don't. I am standing by my comment.
  9. 3800 lb trailer, 467 lb tongue weight

Well, I have seen it. It does happen. You will get an insurance adjuster involved if they suspect things might not be kosher at first glance. If it means the difference in a 50k payout or not due to someone not following the towing specs, you can bet they will take a look. You rolls the dice...
  10. 12v Refrigerator?

So we have an old Rubbermaid fridge cooler thing. I bet it is over 20 years old. Plugs into the lighter outlet. We just used it this Sept on that trip to SoCal and back. Worked great! It isn't big but holds plenty of drinks and food requiring refrigeration. It has a fan that pushes heat out...
  11. Synthetic Oil (Hybrid Maverick)

I have my oil changed about every 8k or so. I just drive it and don't work it too hard except for that long tow to SoCal with the uHaul. I changed the oil just before that trip and then had it changed when I got back. The bottom line is that fresh oil is always good to have. It is rather cheap...
  12. 3800 lb trailer, 467 lb tongue weight

So I will point out something that hasn't been brought up. Accidents and insurance. You can bet if you have an accident of any kind, you will be denied coverage due to overloading the Maverick's tow rating. I towed a 6x12 uHaul trailer from WA state down to SoCal full of my sister in laws...
  13. Underbody Cavity Shield Cover: Essential Protection for Your Maverick

Interesting. I had no issues with the rear sensors. They work just fine.
  14. 💬 Let’s Be Honest: Which Mabett Product Let You Down?

I have to assume it was directed at me and I did something similar to my first set. Mabett sent me replacements with the updated foam padding but it wasn't enough. I will add the foam strips to the new ones and see how it goes.
  15. 💬 Let’s Be Honest: Which Mabett Product Let You Down?

I have to say that the new door handle cups are still pretty rattlely. They are a tight fit until you get to the last 1/4" or so then they drop in and are loose.
  16. Underbody Cavity Shield Cover: Essential Protection for Your Maverick

Right, but there is blue Locktite and blue thread locker. I have no idea what kind of thread locker it was, does it require heat or ? Either way, my impact driver made quick work of it.
  17. Underbody Cavity Shield Cover: Essential Protection for Your Maverick

So I am pretty sure there was some blue on there. Not the whole length of the threads, but only the first 2-3 threads. I didn't redo it but I did check it after about 2 weeks and the torque was the same. I haven't checked it since then but I am sure it is the same.
  18. Underbody Cavity Shield Cover: Essential Protection for Your Maverick

So I couldn't find one for our trucks so I took the torque specs from other trucks of similar size, like the Tacoma, Bronco, etc and came up with an average of 62 ft lbs. Some were 65 others were 59. Seemed like a good number.
  19. Underbody Cavity Shield Cover: Essential Protection for Your Maverick

I installed this first thing (100 miles) due to everyone's comments about how much junk collects in there. It was kinda difficult for me with my neurological disorder. Laying on my back and working overhead took a lot out of me but it was direct, just taxing. Regarding those 2 large bolts...
  20. MUSLOGY GIVEAWAY + NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH – 2025 Ford Maverick Dash Tray!

I have had my 2025 for about 4 months now and I have 6400 miles on it. Lots of highway driving to Idaho (vacation rental) and Portland (brother in law died so I am working on my sister in laws home while she stays with us). There are a lot of things to like about this little rig. My current...
