Sorry to infiltrate the forum, I don’t own a Maverick I have however been doing some anticipated work on my own vehicle which is an Escape utilizing the new updates coming to the 2025 Maverick. My main focus is engine performance and tuning but also many of the Forscan modifications like rear camera while driving and turn signal camera views.

Summary aside, I’d like to point my insight to those interested in M mode. This feature is defined by the BCM. Either L or M. At least that’s as far as I’ve seen it needed to be taken. I am not able to hop on Forscan to verify this setting is even in the EZ mode nor am I able to access the as-builts between Maverick and Bronco Sport to define this location in the AB config version but I’ll try to get to it this weekend though I am hoping someone more ready is able to do it sooner. I’ll directly compare some as-builts soon to verify mainly between Bronco Sports trims since they get M on Badlands and it will eliminate a lot of searching.

Parsing data from the F-150 it’s located in line 726-77-02-xxxx-xxx*-xx—

This section defines RNDM_TransType_Cfg
0= L mode
1= M mode

Hopefully it’s the same for P758/CX430/CX482 but could likely not be. When I added the pillar mounted keyless entry pad the BCM functions didn’t line up the same as “next gen” BCM’s so I’m preemptively figuring neither will this.

Well I am not having a ton of luck. Hopefully I'll be able to try the EZ mode this weekend and see if it's in there but for anyone who is interested, these are the differences that could be found between a 2025 Maverick Lariat 2.0 AWD and a 2025 Maverick Tremor. Hopefully it's in EZ mode because I don't have a cipher for these BCMs to work off. Good luck for anyone who is tempted to try it blind

You are suggesting that if I change that, with the L button we could leave the gearbox in manual?

one problem with manual mode as well as using the paddle shifters is that the truck normally skips 2nd gear because it's so close to 3rd, but manually shifting you have to go through it.

No don’t just change those. I don’t know what line it is. I’m just saying those red numbers are the differences between the two vehicles as a whole. I thought it would be more similar than that. It should only be one digit for M mode however I don’t know which digit it is as there’s dozens of differences to sift through.

But yes once the change is found this would change how L behaves

If you have an accessport manual mode(SST) can be turned on in the TCM tuning. You can also have it set to always show your current gear. I'm not sure if they're still working on it but it will still shift on its own, it will hold a gear though if your just driving normal.

I see that you have an explorer cluster, yes? Are you using the Maverick shifter or the escape one? We're trying to get things set up with an explorer St cluster, escape shifter, HVAC, and escape titanium steering wheel with paddles and can't get FORscan to write to the ipc. Wondering if you or anyone else ran into this and had any suggestions. Can remove things one piece at a time if need be but figured checking here first may be best.

Thanks to anyone with any input... Looking forward to getting this set up!

First, I want to apologize for butting into this thread with no helpful input.

Second, I really love this thread and hope somebody figures out how to keep the transmission in true "manual mode".

Third, Does anybody have any extra terminal pins that they would be willing to sell to me? I was looking online at the parts.ford.com site and I Know they are not worth the $130 that they are listed at right now lol. I don't know why they are charging that much right now but I am smart enough to know to not buy those. I could buy them from eBay; but why are sellers adding nearly $30 for shipping lol? Aren't these pins and wires small enough and lightweight enough to put in an envelope and slap a stamp on it to mail?

good work. I just installed my ST wheel with paddle shifters and I am looking into the 2025 Maverick LOBO vs other 2025 Mavericks codings because the LOBO comes with the M button on the dial shifter because it has paddle shifters. The non-lobo 2025 Mavericks still come with the L button on the dial shifter. I believe the codings are in the PCM, BCM and IPC. I will work on comparing and narrowing it down when I get some free time.

I have a Cobb tuner and would love if they could figure out manual shifting mode too. I love these paddle shifters but it reverts back to automatic shifting mode too quickly for me to really enjoy them.

I have some extra pins I could sell but the best and cheapest way to get these pin connectors is to call around your local ford dealerships. They have these pins for MUCH cheaper than online.

I have a Cobb accessport. I will have to look at the TCM settings for keeping it in manual mode. Im comparing the 2025 Maverick LOBO codings with others to narrow down how to make change the L mode to M mode. The LOBO comes with the same dial our trucks have but it has an M instead of an L.

Also, anyone doing this steering wheel mod needs to make sure they get the correct steering wheel. There are many FORD PUMA steering wheels in Europe that actually use a different airbag than the airbag used in the USA. Before you buy a steering wheel, make sure the silver backing behind the airbag is IDENTICAL to your stock steering wheel!!
