I found it very easy to fit the MAF into a piece of intake plumbing incase you'd like to put your own filter on it.

I used:
-Spectre 3" O.D. - 45° Tube
-Dorman 52058 for the grommet
-Step bit for the hole, it measured to 7/10 of an inch.

MAF fits in very snug.
$23 in parts before a filter.

Did the exact same thing on my truck. Works excellent. And and not expensive. Along with my JB4 tuner there is a definite increase in hp and torque.

QS? Does this invalidate any Warranties? With increased HP / performance, what was the effect on the MPG overall?

I've been wondering about tuning options for these. Do you know if its possible to have significant performance gains (i.e, worth the price of the tuner) with the JB4 while running 87 octane or would you be limited to buying 91+ in order to make real power?

All cars and trucks that are boosted (other than diesel) should always run 91 +.

I would imagine if you keep your foot out of it, your mileage will go up. I read somewhere about a guy with an AWD Eco who uncorked both ends. Opened up the intake and exhaust then tuned it for 300hp and was knocking down 39-40 mpg as long as he kept his foot out of it. I plan to do the same, but may or may not wait until the warranty is done. Depends on how many or few issues I have with it in the first year of ownership.

Looking for that grommet PN #52058 from the Dorman, cannot seem to find it. I found a #42058 that looks like it could work.

Could you bring me up to date with these mods, what's JB4 and what is the benefit of the intake change. Obviously I know its performance gains, just not quite understanding it all. Thanks guys

Guess I'll have to try. Since I fill up once or maybe twice a month. Financially right now not a deL breaker. Unlike my Redline line only o1 or better.

I've never seen this thread before today but that's the intake air temp sensor.

the 22-24 2.0 ecoboost does not use a maf sensor.

it uses a pair of map sensors, one in the intake manifold and the other in the intercooler.

The Maverick is rated to run on 87 just fine.
Running 87 is just fine in the Mav, however, Ford used 91 octane to provide HP and TRQ figures. If you arent running premium fuel HP and TRQ will be down and the full potential of the engine will never be used.
