Can we see the position of the tire to the "toothed" stamping?

It’s too cold for me to crawl under the car to snap a pic. But trust me it fits no different than the donut. Perfect placement.

no hitch.
The hitch and the jagged edge are what restricts a full size spare. Ford is stingy with the maverick but can’t see why they didn’t plan for a full size spare.
In all fairness many manufacturers don’t give any spare

my apologies. It seems you have to guide the spare by pulling it toward the back of the car so that the tire will lie next to the tooth thingy and then tighten it. I had to go back to make sure the tooth don’t bite too deep into the tire. See pics.

So what is the purpose for the toothy bracket.can you just bend it a little for clearance?

Here’s some more pics of making adjustments so the tooth thing can bite a little into the tire but now a whole lot. You kinda have to pull on the tire while turning the jack.

So what is the purpose for the toothy bracket.can you just bend it a little for clearance?
It’s so that when you get rear ended it prevents the puncture of the fuel tank with the tire acting as a buffer
