nice set up. That's what I'm going to do
Consider that the DEMCO towbar baseplates (just released) look similar but do not require the destruction of the lower active-shutter system. Mine is awaiting my getting around to install it.

Neat... Does the battery charge when you pull it?

More info on the Demco baseplate availability please. Looks like a far better option than Roadmaster or BlueOx. TIA

I have not had that issue, but I will be interested in this also.

An educated guess would say I don't think this is an issue because when you put the Mav in tow neutral, it has you turn the ignition off. It also has what they call regenerative braking. This is one of the various ways the battery is continuously being recharged. Assuming the brake assist is working, the battery is still being charged. But, with the ignition off. Does it still charge?

I will experiment with a multimeter when we start and stop. That may answer the question.

Assuming the Maverick is like the Cmax, it does NOT charge the battery while in motion when properly set to "neutral tow".
I ran a wired from the battery charge line of the coach to the battery in the Maverick while I was setting up the base plate and rear lights. That fixed the problems with the Cmax and should overcome any issues with a dead battery on the Maverick.

The DEMCO baseplate was only recently developed and started shipping a couple weeks ago. It is more expensive than Blue Ox (hard to make pretty) or Roadmaster (pretty but may cause warranty issues as you must destroy the lower active-shutter system), but it looks good and leaves the shutters along...with only a trim on the side air dams..

I bought mine directly from Demco for $665 plus shipping. A member here found an ad from Tweety's that they would provide ANY Demco Baseplate for something like $498 shipped. I don't know if that works for the Maverick baseplate that is # 9519360 .

I like the distance between the hook ups On the Democrats. Puts the toad back farther from the hitch.
