I finally found the perfect rack for the Maverick. I can haul my 16’ sea kayak one day and the next day my dirtbike.
The rear bar of the rack is held in with cotter pins and slides out so you can put tall items in the bed like a refrigerator or desk or dirtbike or whatever.

This YouTube video explains it better than I can. There website is garbage. I had to call them, but they were prompt to answer. I asked for photos of a customers rack and they emailed me these pictures.
They quoted me $1,261 with an 11 week build time. I live on the east coast and they won’t ship me the aluminum version, but the steal one. If you live on the west coast you can get the aluminum one for $1,241.

Now Ford just needs to open up their orders so I can buy the truck. I wasn’t even aware of this truck until they stopped taking Hybrid orders.
I hope this helps you lucky ones that already have the truck.

Finally something that looks like it could be used for actual work not just weekend play time!

I reviewed their website and they have so many options. I really like it .

You can see the antenna sticking up into the rack space here still. The stubby replacement would work well here..

That's really cool and super functional! @Backyard-Dawg looks like it won't work with any tonneau cover unless you trim it. The mounting points would block installation of any cover I've seen.

Any info on how much payload weight the rack uses up and how much weight it can bear?

Looks nice! Wonder how much it weighs/affects payload capacity. I saw the harbor freight version which is similar but a little different on the road a while back on a different truck model and the front bounced down the highway quite a bit. Have you noticed a lot of rack bounce in the front?

I like this but I think I would personally be better serviced with 4 rack bars - 2 across the bed and two across the roof - all level. That way I don't have a lot of steel, can take them off easily, can still load long loads although tying down is more tricky, and can buy attachments for special loads like bicycles. The nice thing about the Maverick being unibody is that the bed doesn't free-float from the cab so we can extend loads over bars attached directly to the cab roof. Note the roof can't handle a lot of weight but that's not an issue for me as I'll never go over 100lbs.

Any idea if this will fit with a hard cover/Roll up? Best rack I have seen yet.
I would call them and ask. They do make a model for other trucks that accepts Roll ups and Camper shells. Now that that have made a rack for the Maverick, they have the dimensions so I don't see why they couldn't.

I copied this picture from their website.

Wonder why you can't get aluminum on the east coast?
The rep I talked to on the phone explained it to me. Rack-it has two manufacturing facilities. One in California and one in Kentucky. Depends on where you live, they make and ship the rack to the a dealer for you to pick up.

The California Plant has the tooling to make the aluminum racks. The Kentucky plant does not. Apparently shipping the Aluminum racks is not possible from California to the east coast.

You can buy an aluminum rack from California, you just have to arrange pick up or shipping yourself. They won't sent it to a dealership for you.

I don't know why a rep for them isn't on this forum to talk about their products.

Rack-It had been in this business forever and builds super sturdy and clean racks. This has my attention. :)

This is precisely why I am talking about this rack. It's the only rack in the game where you can remove the rear bar to eliminate height restrictions.
