Looks good. I've been changing at 3k just for the samples to be consistent and to make better judgement of how long the oil lasts in my driving conditions/location. For me, it ends up being once a year and I'm happy with doing it once a year. I'd do it once a year regardless of how often/little I drive just to have something to do and keep the engine peppy. I just don't drive as much as I used to and I'm happy about it. The EB seems happy to. Here are the results so far:

Ford Maverick Got my 2nd Blackstone oil analysis report in (2.0 EcoBoost) Screenshot 2024-09-18 162643

I'm happy between 3-5k as the manual states for my driving conditions and I'm happy with the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, but I also just got some Rotella T6 Multi-vehicle that I'm going to use eventually too. It was only $25 on sale and is also great oil for the EB's, just not as many additives. That is probably why the TBN came back so high on this one in comparison to the initial change where I'm pretty sure a good 1/4th quart of old oil was left in and I have no idea what type of oil it was as I bought used with 11k on it (but the oil was definitely changed by CarMax before I bought it). As long as the antifreeze number doesn't start climbing I think the EB will be okay for a while longer 🤣

So, have at it. Tell me I should go for 10k like a Hybrid or tell me I should change at 1k. I don't care much. Just sharing my results for my use and my preferences on maintenance.

To anyone seeing this information for the first time, if you are interested, contact Blackstone to get some sample containers sent out.

👍Great results "Montana" keep doing what you're doing the results prove it out.
I know I have a hybrid with what some call "tractor engine" and probably don't need it. But I really am a believer in Pennzoil natural gas to oil technology, so yes I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Full Synthetic too.

I change my oil by mileage only.
Every 10k a full oil change w/filter
Every 5k I replace the oil filter only and top off.

That advice was given to me by a late NASCAR mechanic. Back in 1990 I bought a new Ford SHO. I wanted to know whether this "newfangled" synthetic oil was any good in the upper midwest winters.
He said synthetic oil was great in cold and heat and told me explained the 10full/5filter only way.
At the time other than Amsoil, Mobile 1 was the only other synthetic out there that was readily available.

I've used it for a long time for that reason and it's cold performance/flow rate. If I still had the 2.5, which I definitely prefer in comparison to ANY EB (especially paired with the eCVT), no doubt I'd use it too. Probably scale it down to Pennzoil Platinum though, and that's likely what I'll do in the future with the EB as well. Just for the cost of the oil as the PUP is becoming more and more scarce which means higher priced too. I'm not an advocate for overspending on oil in applications you don't need to (y) I'm too poor for that Amsoil cult lol

I look forward to all the Hybrid '25's pushing 7-10k on the AWD's. About damn time. I was at 7k intervals with an Escape 2.5L Hybrid which now days would put me at 2 years for a change. I think I'd just get bored stretching beyond that 🤣 I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

That’s one clean undercarriage!
My 2015 Prius was just as clean when I sold it. I kept the undercover on it and I plan on doing the same with my Maverick.

Last year when I had about 960 miles on my 2.5 hybrid the oil life monitor came in with "time to change oil" at one year. I checked last week with total miles at 2,800 and remaining oil life shows 20% = "The Clock Ticks" so the one year since oil changed is about up!!!
Edit to add: this is my emergency backup truck for when the wife is using the Lariat with 31,500 miles or is out of Town, etc.

Great maintenance plan. I have a similar Engine/Drive Train in My 2020 Fusion AWD. I drive the Fusion 5000 miles per year. I change all oils /Fluids once a year with the specified Motorcraft products.(Engine/filter,PTU,Transmission,Rear Axle- about $200. at home)

@Montana, good to see the fuel level so low, seems the "internet wisdom" is not accurate in your case 😉
I'll take actual data any day!

Surprised viscosity low.
Did sample on my truck at 1500 miles since new. Also did sample on wife’s 2017 Escape, and it’s viscosity low too. The oil is Motorcraft.

So viscosity is out of range, yet Blackstone says should be ok.

i pull my sample with oil barely warm, not hot. Blackstone says no matter, they heat up oil when doing viscosity sample.

Anecdotal, is informative and sometimes amusing.
Hard facts. Win the case. 👍

Changed my oil today. Took 20 minutes. Checked my CV axles and they looked fine.

How does Ford deal with warranty issues when you do it yourself are they real ball breakers about it or as long as you have your receipts they're good?

Was that your first oil change? Looks like the factory shorty filter. did you find metallic particles on the first change?
