Your humor: Do they get it, or are you like me?

Are you always in the doghouse over your humor as I am?

Example;
Wife: What do you get a girl that has everything?
Me; A girl that has everything? Wow, penicillin would be a good place to start....
Wife; I'm talking about our daughter!
Me; Isn't she a bit young for that?

I can't win. I am always "in trouble".... Do I do it on purpose? Absolutely. Maybe I'm not funny, maybe some people are just dry?
She tells me just because I have a high IQ, it doesn't make me right all of the time.... I have to disagree, that's exactly what that means! It's not my fault some people may have less than the collective IQ of an inbred Pygmy village.

Meh, a sense of humor is a quality one cannot determine for oneself. It is determined by the perception of others. Also, it is possible to get a joke and not be amused by it.

I did stand up comedy for 6 years and toured "Dicks last Resort" as well as few other establishments. Majority of responses and interactions were positive.

You are correct, not everyone is amused... Some people have different taste, and some are so far up their own arse that nothing brings them joy or laughter.

Dick's absolutely attracted a certain kind of crowd with a certain kind of sense of humor. You obviously have determined that anything you find subjectively funny is objectively funny, so enjoy yourself.
