Anyone else have trouble reading their dipstick?
Mine is always "wet" like 8 inches up. I wipe it with a clean rag, re-dip, and again there is oil 8 inches up. No, it is not over-filled.
Seems oil is being splashed, pushed, or otherwise sent up the tube. More so than any other vehicle I've owned. Makes it really difficult to get a clean, repeatable reading. It is like it won't drain out.
My only saving grace is usually the "min-max" holes.
The dipstick is like a bubble wand in the regard the hole holds onto oil via surface tension.
So best I can do, repeatably, is oil in the bottom hole, none in the top hole. So I know I''m "fine". But I'd like to know how far above "min" I really am.
Anyone else see this "effect" of oil being several inches up the stick even after repeated measurements?
Maybe I need to do more than 3 or 4 "dips". But never had to in all my other vehicles.
