Ford Maverick X-Plan questions FordMaverickORDER12Sep24

Was reviewing some post on Maverick Truck Club and found a post about MAC & X-Plan.

Signed up and started reading through this at

https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/jsp/howitworks/fordpartner_rules.htm

& under the 'Document Fees' I read that 'Dealers will be permitted to assess up to $100 in documentary fees'. Went to my Ford dealer & was told that the amount has been changed & is now at $150.

How can this be verified?

Have the fordpartner_rules.htm been changed and is not showing the update?

Just like anyone else, I do not want to pay more than I have too.

Does X-Plan use the MSRP or the dealer invoice figure?

My dealer is using MSRP.

We did do the build and ordered.

Also check to see if your state permits a higher fee. Likely will take some digging. Every state is different. The dealer may act like they don’t know the laws and try to charge above what’s allowed. Take all documentation along at delivery. I had a whole folder full of documents that saved several hundred dollars they tried to overcharge.

The dealership that I picked-up my new Tremor this week was in your fine state, and had a higher doc fee pre-printed on all their paperwork. They promised me that they would send me a check for the difference,,,,

If they don't, I'll get the Plan coordinators involved. They seem to take that stuff pretty seriously.

Looks to me like your dealer was selling at Invoice pricing, I am saying that based on the Invoice number being circled.

If you closely look/compare, you will see that X-plan is actually higher over Invoice pricing (I think was $100 or so in my case). My dealer‘s doc fees are $175, so that is $25 difference from the X-plan allowed amount. The X-plan price is more than $25 more than invoice. My dealer does invoice pricing, so I have never needed to use my X-plan.
I have purchased multiple vehicles from them and I run the numbers every time, Invoice pricing has always beat X-plan.
Granted not my much, but still cheaper.

X-plan is good if you live in a state with high doc fees, or your dealer sells at MSRP.

Thank you for the info.
Looking at the 12 Sep build page, with MSRP & INVOICE, and add about $454 for the spray in bed liner, that brings the price to about $35,025.
That puts INVOICE at a better price on that sheet.
Now question is, will dealer re-do the build at invoice, not using X-Plan.
The only thing I can do is go in and ask.

I don't know X plan from Z plan. I refuse to pay Doc Fees. Those add ons are BS. If the dealer won't take them off, I walk away. Before you can buy a vehicle the dealer must provide you with a title and/or other documents to assure he has the ability to sell you vehicle. That's his cost of doing business. If he/they are not smart enough to hide that with the other overheads then you don't want t do business with them. Get them to quote an out the door price.

All you can do is ask them to show you both prices so you can compare. Including the doc fee difference.

Your linked document is outdated, the Plan rules were last modified in Jan 2024, the allowable doc fee is now $150.

As of Oct 1st, allowable doc fees on Xplan is up to $300. Still $150 for A/Z.
No limit on Dplan anymore (but most states have max).
