@roadkingtc88 if you look at the information you get when you get your x-plan code it specifically says you have to notify the dealer that you intend to use the X-Plan before placing an order and have it in your original paperwork signed or they can refuse to honor the pricing

If you find out they won't honor X plan I would look for a dealer who would and you can transfer your order too. I am still in the process of doing this. Was refunded by Jim Click Ford and called 800-334-4375 to request an order transfer. The process takes 2-3 weeks and if the truck is already in or near production it is probably to late. No guarantees on getting approval of the transfer as i am still praying for mine to go through, it has been 9 business days since I requested the transfer. After another week I will call and check on it again.
Thanks! I did get in touch with my salesperson and am setting up time to meet with them. Hopefully won’t come to that but good to know if I need to. Thanks!

X plan is only about $200 off the base XLT price. My Z plan is only about $2,000 total off an XLT with luxury package, copilot and FX4.
Yes, but for many of us, the Xplan limits the dealer fees and add ons, where I live it is not uncommon for the documentation fee to be anywhere from $800-$1200! Plus they require you to pay for their protection package (fabric protector, wax, nitrogen, etc...) for another $1500. So in this case the X plan saves almost $3k!

After a 3 month wait, my Alto Blue Maverick finally arrived at the dealership! When I approved the order sheet, I put “x-plan pricing” beside my signature, and also mentioned it to the sales person I was working with. Today during the paperwork, I was told that they would NOT allow x-plan pricing, (even though Ford says that it is available), and have not done one in years. Sooo, there was a $795 dealer fee, exorbitant admin fee and large doc fee added to the MSRP. Under x-plan, the dealer fee is disallowed, and other fees are limited. They would not budge, nor would they discount the base price by the corresponding dealer fee to enable a win win.

I walked out. I later got a call from the GM, but only reasons why they couldn’t do any better. Needless to say, I’m quite disappointed.
So I called another dealer that we’ve used in the past, and they DO honor plan. I will reprdet
Who is the dealer? Did they promise MSRP with no markups? Did they sign anything? Did you sign the DORA at order time? Did you talk about X Plan at the time of order? Need more information before we can help.
Dealer is Peacock Ford in Maitland, Fl

X-plan doesn't affect additional items. It only limits how much they charge as a doc fee.

  • The dealership may charge any price negotiated (at or above dealer cost) between the dealer and the customer for undercoating, dealer installed options, extended service contracts and other items or services that add value to the vehicle, provided such items are priced separately and listed individually on the retail buyer's order and the AXZD-Plan Pricing Agreement.

To protect yourself you need a signed "Buyer's Order" from the dealership that has all prices listed MSRP, any fees TT&L, etc with an OTD final price that is signed by you and the General/Sales Manager. By signing it you and the dealership are committed to the agreed upon price. That is a binding agreement that both you and the dealership have so when your Maverick gets delivered you won't get stuck with additional costs at delivery time.
And I guarantee this dealer knows all about buyer's order, and intentionally never mention it to any customer hoping they will reject it upon arrival with markup fees so they still get the order from Ford under your name but then sell it on the open market at highest price possible.

Put the dealer on blast in your signature, I know I would!

Its really long overdue that we also work to abolish the dealership model. No reason you shouldn't be able to buy a new car straight from Ford and finance online in minutes. Heck, maybe even make it sold by Ford but fulfilled by Amazon:

So ready for the dealership model to go bye-bye. Just charge PayPal for my down/fees and drop it off in my driveway straight off the truck after prep.

Or via Amazon drone, that'd be ok too ;)

I've been to 4 or do dealerships and only one is accepting X-Plan on orders, none on lot inventory. Just a FYI.

Oh and recheck with dealers often. I've seen some go from accepting X-Plan in September to not accepting it now.

I think people will be in for a surprise if they think Amazon won't jack up prices if there is high demand and low supply. When there isn't a supply shortage, Amazon also isn't going to negotiate a lower price like you do with a dealer.

Or the manufacturers for that matter. Tesla just increased prices another $1,000.

I sure hope my dealer will accept X-plan. I built my Maverick from my companies X-Plan code. I brought that to my dealer and he said he would add X-Plan in when we go over finance stuff once the vehicle comes in. The sales manager is the one that placed the order and the one I have been in contact with throughout the process.

X plan discount off a base XL is $150. Co-Pilot is $507. I believe that's about $560 normally. I get a total of about $23,060 for an XL Ecoboost with 360, floor liner and hitch.

My XLT lux was $31.575 x plan $30.803 about $770.00 drop + limited doc fees. $30.803 is what sales manager wrote down. Haven't seen the invoice yet but will be checking it closely. If you have a dispute over x plan i would call Ford customer service and ask if the dealer has used x plan recently and accepted it.
