What are the advantages of carpeting the dash? not being a smart alec. Just want to know the reasons behind it.
my old nissan versa got many cracks which I had to fix with gorilla tape, I am getting this for the incoming maverick to prevent the same fate

I appreciate the embroidered Maverick, but I'm not a fan of the sun cutout in the back, especially since there are no openings in that spot. I ordered one a few months ago, which I find better as it fits perfectly with holes only where they are needed. I'm even considering going to a local place to get it embroidered now that I see yours. I may do the Orange though.

Weird tho. One recent 2023 Amazon review says it does not fit well in a Maverick. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That's the one I was going to go with, but I liked the "non-slip silicone dots" on the base of the one I got, rather than Velcro strips; sliding has not been a problem, either. The red embroidery was a really Nice surprise, though.
I did not use the velcro and it stays put. I have a rubber tray insert in the top cubby that helps, but the mat is just laying there and does fine without anything. I don't really set anything on the dash anyway. Even with the window down, I don't seem to have any issues.

This is the insert I use. Rubberized and looks good.

Mine or the OP? The one I bought fits perfect and has no issues.

Fade and cracking over time. If you leave your car out in the sun all the time, it will happen. Mine is garaged, but I still put one because it sits out during the day at work, and I plan on keep in for a while. At the end of the day, resale value is why put it on mine. If you don't plan on keeping it forever, you won't care anyway.

Regarding the dash cover design I chose, I saw that the Lariat trim has speakers in the forward center dash near the windshield. That explains the "Sun cut-outs," though they didn't bother me.

why do i see lumps/humps all over the place?
I'd just unfolded it from its packaging and put it on the dash when I took the photo. It may flatten better after a while, warmed by the sun. If not, I plan to borrow my wife's hand-held Clothing Steamer (removes wrinkles) to see if that relaxes and smooths the mat.
Say, did you hear it was only $25 and came embroidered in red block letters "MAVERICK?" I didn't say it was perfect, just seemed like a great deal, especially with the truck Name on it.

I found this black dash cover on Amazon and it seemed like a good deal for the $25 price. When it arrived and I put it on my truck's dash, I found that the right side had embroidered "MAVERICK" in block letters, red thread (see photo). It looks great with my Hot Pepper Red XLT truck! Even though the description does not specifically mention this added feature (so I don't know if it always comes this way), here's the link...

I like the embroidered Maverick, but I have a Covercraft which fits much better. It lays flat
on the dashboard, whereas the Amazon one has bulges. I ordered one of these and sent it back.

I put Mcquires Ultimate Shine with UV Protection on my vehicles and my Cruze that had 250k miles interior looked pretty much new. I didn't do the back ever and it was a night and day difference in how the plastics looked. My dash and everything looked great, the backseat plastic were grey and dull. I should have taken pics before trading it in.

In Florida dash and center console will discolor with age and crack. I have replaced a couple severely cracked console lids, but not sure resolution for a cracked dash. So the small pillows I use for arm rests are often tossed in dash when vehicle parked outside. I have been looking for a topper, but they don’t always sit down flat. For $20 plus bucks I think I will pull the trigger as well.
In Texas here and we have more sunny days and higher temps than Florida. A good protectant and sealant will keep the dash looking like new. A garage also helps. Never had a cracked or faded dash in the last 50 years. Not sure I want carpet on the dash. Just draws dirt.

Which model? They have several on their website. Do you have photos?
