Wow, I just got this Dash Cover with a Nice Surprise, "Maverick" in Red Letters!

I found this black dash cover on Amazon and it seemed like a good deal for the $25 price. When it arrived and I put it on my truck's dash, I found that the right side had embroidered "MAVERICK" in block letters, red thread (see photo). It looks great with my Hot Pepper Red XLT truck! Even though the description does not specifically mention this added feature (so I don't know if it always comes this way), here's the link...

Thanks for the pictures. I was concerned about proper fit but that looks pretty good for the price. Think I'll snatch one up.

EDIT: I ended up going for the Covercraft Dashmat instead. I have had one in my Ranger for decades and really like it.

What are the advantages of carpeting the dash? not being a smart alec. Just want to know the reasons behind it.

I see 2 advantages. You like how it looks and it will keep the sun/UV of the dash and may have a longer life without cracking.

I was thinking "dust cover".
It's hard for me to clean dust close to the windshield.

Have a similar one on the Ranger. They greatly reduce sun glare in the day and light reflections at night too! Plus, when you're just running in to a business quickly you don't have to set up your windshield sun screen to prevent dash UV damage.

It's hard for me to clean dust close to the windshield.

FYI, cleaning dust close to the windshield tip of the day...use a Swiffer duster. Been doing it for years on all of our vehicles.

I appreciate the embroidered Maverick, but I'm not a fan of the sun cutout in the back, especially since there are no openings in that spot. I ordered one a few months ago, which I find better as it fits perfectly with holes only where they are needed. I'm even considering going to a local place to get it embroidered now that I see yours. I may do the Orange though.

That's the one I was going to go with, but I liked the "non-slip silicone dots" on the base of the one I got, rather than Velcro strips; sliding has not been a problem, either. The red embroidery was a really Nice surprise, though.

In Florida dash and center console will discolor with age and crack. I have replaced a couple severely cracked console lids, but not sure resolution for a cracked dash. So the small pillows I use for arm rests are often tossed in dash when vehicle parked outside. I have been looking for a topper, but they don’t always sit down flat. For $20 plus bucks I think I will pull the trigger as well.

Sure, for me here are my thoughts on dash covers,
1) it avoids distracting sunlight reflections off dash onto the inner windshield (cover being black),
2) it keeps the dash clean & neat (no stains or scratches), yet easy to clean (wash/dry cover), and
3) it can customize the appearance, especially with an embroidered name or phase; either a personal name (my wife & I have our names embroidered in our Prius dashcover) or "Maverick."
