Well, Winter has arrived and there is an expected 5cm plus snow today - wet snow. I see warmer weather in two days so maybe just wait and let it melt. My concern is that with my old F150, when we got snow, especially wet or icy rain I would lift my wipers off the glass so they weren't stuck. I appears I can't do this with the Maverick. Has anyone, especially those in the Northern states or Canada found a way to keep the wipers from being frozen in?

Take care and safe travels this winter.

Southern California has left the conversation 🥶.
Mississippi left, too, but it is cold here and will be 23 in the morning. We usually get our snow for the year the first of January. I can just stay home!

My '74 Lincoln Mark had wipers that would park slightly raised off the glass. This kept the blade from deforming.
Some good ideas just don't get passed on from one generation of engineer/designer to the next.

You can manually move the wipers from their parked position a few inches, then you can lift them of the windshield.

You can but Ford specifically says not to do this, as it can cause wiper motor damage.

Depending on where in Canada you are, one of the peculiar things we have are bags of milk as well as cartons and bottles. The larger bag that holds the smaller ones is perfect for covering the wiper blades prior to a snow/ice event without damaging the blades.
The bags are really no good for anything after the contents are used, so in some households (mine) there is an almost endless supply (which can also still be recycled).
You asked - that's what I do. (works for all of our vehicles, not just the Maverick - how's that for versatility?)

You are very disciplined. I just can't see committing to do that every night - it's often calm at bedtime but then snow sneaks in as you sleep.
