Windshield rocks chips / cracks galore

2024 Hybrid , 2 months old ,2100 klms, double lane highway and i get a rock from a truck that passed me, it hit right at the top of windshield and cab , now mi got a running crack ! who knows where it will end up ! at least i did not hit a deer !

That must have been a flat rock or multiple stones with those three small paint chips adjacent to the windshield. My 23 was three or four months old when I needed to drive two days back to CA. and on the second day just a few miles out of Barstow I got into a short but heavy dust storm. About five miles later I got into another and I could hear it hitting the glass. I arrived in Sacramento early enough to hit the carwash and when I finished drying it off noticed the hundreds of little chips in the glass and all flat facing areas of paint and plastic. I had just changed insurance companies and did not turn in a claim so someday I will have to lay out the nine hundred bucks to replace the "Quiet" windshield.

I have a bunch of chips also, my FX4 is 2 years old and only 10k miles, I never go on parkway 95% local driving. The windshields are thin and weak!!

Got my last “ford” quiet screen for 645$ installed , a couple local guys from the border area.
Coming down in price a little . Mostly a scam as they all say they have to recalibrate the camera . That’s how all of a sudden the windshields have gone from 130$ installed for a 90’sf150 with a tint stripe at the top to 600-700 for a just glue on ( no trim removal or install).
which out of 3 windshields I’ve seen nothing but remove and replace the camera mount .thats it .

Took what sounded like a shotgun blast to the windshield a couple of days ago. Hit just below the roofline on the drivers side of the cover behind the rearview mirror. It was actually a rock thrown up by a power company truck. Crack is expanding daily. BTW, truck is 15-months old just short of 24K miles.

It was actually a rock thrown up by a power company truck. Crack is expanding daily. BTW, truck is 15-months old just short of 24K miles.

Two days ago I took a rock near passenger side barely in the black = 3 itsy bitsy 1/32" cracks heading towards center. I immediately turned around and headed to glass shop about 2 miles away. Glass shop guy (do we call him "cracker", "man who does crack", or "?") said hit or miss on crack repair in black area chip. Truck is 29 months old 28,500 miles.
