All the little tips here compiled would likely help reduce odds and increase lifespan. It does seem rather likely many of the symptoms are due to the angle of the windshield. I do love the visibility that large upright stance gives though.
- Bug deflector, might change the trajectory of smaller debris enough to help with pitting
- Increase your follow distance, especially on haulers
- Good Rain-x routines or other coatings might reduce small debris affect. It does also reduce the visual effect of pitting IMO. Wonder if there is a product aimed at this?
- I've had great luck with resin kits in the past. Provided you're diligent and tend to issues quickly. My last windshield was cracked 2 or 3 years into 20 year ownership. Self patch held the whole time in NE.
Otherwise, I will investigate how much extra a $0 deductible is on my insurance.
