School me on window air deflectors for the Maverick.
Never had them. In channel or stick on?
What style are the ones offered as an option?
What are the best aftermarket?

Thanks!

3m tape thin plastic. Flat on the truck makes a bigger blindspot. Easy to install

The front have a tab to cram at the mirror. Just tape holding them on

I had the ones from Ford accessories on a Maverick XL. As stated above, they have double sided adhesive tape. You have to lift the flap of the rearview mirrors to slip the tab on the visor under. I thought they really didn't serve a purpose for me after I put them on. In my opinion, they didn't make the rear window visors long enough to fit the complete door. If you look in the pic in the above post, you can see they're at least an inch or two short.

When I traded in the XL for an XLT that a customer didn't take delivery on, I didn't put them on the new Maverick. I live in Florida, and rarely ever drive with my windows cracked due to the heat and humidity.

Would I recommend these? No.

Are they necessary? No.

I never had them on any vehicle I've owned since 1978.

Why did I put them on the Maverick XL? I thought "Wow Factor", but there wasn't any "wow" in it.

I bought my window deflectors because my truck will be sitting outside in the hot sun day after day here in South Carolina. This way I can crack the four windows and let some air circulation happen when my truck is sitting in my driveway. The hot sun hits my driveway from noon till it goes down. If I had a garage, then would probably not need them, since it would not be in the sun all day.

I have had vent visors on other trucks and I like them. In Texas, I can crack a window or two and allow some of the super-heated air to escape. You can drive with one cracked while driving in light to medium rain. They did not hinder outward visibility, IMO. I will install the Ford OEM visors when my truck arrives.
EDIT: I forgot to mention they help block the sun in the low western winter sky.

I've always thought of them as for smokers as not to get wet while they flick their ashes out or flick their butts outside onto the roads. They look ok as bling. I've got lots of accessories on mine but the two most useful have been the tonneau cover and especially the vertical cargo net.

I installed them on my Hybrid Lariat, and agree with you. These are the stick on ones that are to long on the rear doors, and block your view when looking for traffic coming from either side at a stop sign. Some people mounted them at the top of the door, where it meets the roof, and trimmed the tab that goes under the mirror for better view sideways, but that doesn't flow with the trim, and looks awkard. I think the ones that go into the window channel would be better on a Maverick.

Do they seem secure? I know some have attached them to the metal above the rubber around the windows. Also, I'm 6'4", so want to make sure I have ample line of view.

They are very secure as the double sided tape is extremely sticky!!

3M automotive tape has some of the stickiest adhesive available.

Got them with my Ford points when truck was delivered about 2 months ago easy to put on im out West now Interstate 40 70 to 80 + MPH no problem at all. I'm also 6ft 4in. Tall and no visions problems at all one problem when I wash the truck I have to wait until the truck drives and rolled windows down about 2 in and clean the outside as I cannot get my fingers in between the window and the window guard no big deal I recommend them to any of our Maverick Club brothers and sisters Mag Maverick 👍😊

Thanks! Did you attach them to the rubber around the window, or to the metal of the door?

I have them on my Lariat…they are good for keeping rain out when a window is cracked, and vent in hot weather. They are secure. I do find they block visibility a bit tho. I got mine from the dealer, who installed them.
