They would do well on a Idaho dirt farm!
Used to see them sitting all over around here. Last few years they've all disappeared. Been keeping my eyes open for one but all I've seen for sale is a clapped out rust bucket for $6500. I'll stumble on to one someday.

Will my current car make it? Sure. If I keep clearing the check engine codes with an OBD scanner. Haha. Been getting "running lean" codes every few weeks. But seems to drive ok.

2007 Chevy 1500 with 200k on it. I hope the stupid valve lifters hold out....other than that crappy design, it has been fine. The only other issue is a small vacuum leak on the PCV system.

Over the years, other than routine stuff, I've only had to replace the throttle body. It doesn't run great and likes to eat oil....but it runs.

I'm hoping my 2004 Chevy S-10 Crewcab will last (193K). It's still strong as a daily driver and expect to drive it through the winter.

2004 GMC Canyon about to turn over 170k. Having oil pressure and break fluid pressure issues. Was hoping to have my Mav a long time ago; rolled over to the 1-year club on the 8th. Fingers crossed no other issues come up.

My 130k 99 Cadillac Deville was given to Habitat for Humanity, God I was sick of keeping it running.

I have 2 2021 Fords, both wth less than 14,000 miles. I think there isn't any concern....
The Maverick is just a toy for me. I ordered a Lariat because I didn't realize when I ordered the XLT that it didn't have adaptive cruise control.

My old Merc is a Panther...they never truly die.

That being said, I only have 76K on it so it's still good for another 200K easy.

Luckily I ordered the Mav out of want and not need, my 13' Fiat 500 Abarth with 95k on it has yet to give me much trouble in the time I've owned it. But now I'm facing a new issue where first kid is expected early March, and my wife also has a Fiat 500. So we're going to need something that can fit 2 adults and a car seat by then.

I'm driving my 2009 MX-5 with 88k miles. The car will make it just fine, not sure how I will like driving it all winter.

I've been keeping my 2003 Pontiac Vibe alive for a long time now (225,000 miles). Last January was the first time in 18 years when the mechanic gave me a list of things that may need attention, I no longer saw this car as an investment, and I turned most of them down. It's now a race to keep the car moving, safe, and legal at a minimal $$ until its Maverick replacement gets here. A bit annoying that I frugally kept this car for 18 years to only now NEED to replace it during the worst car market it in ages. I will have to go shop for some used tires here soon to get it to that finish line.

2007 Fusion 2.3, just over 175k on it now. It's had the common 3-4 hard shift for almost 100k now, but it hasn't gotten any worse. Needs new tires and rear brakes but I *really* don't wanna buy tires if the maverick will be here within the year...

Im sorry but a entry level Chevy with 200k is only worth $1500. That many miles in 5 years means that you ran the heck out of it. Nothing in its drivetrain was designed for more than 250,000 miles before needing serious work. That means if you sell it to someone who uses it as much as you, they will need another car or a cheap mechanic in the middle of winter next year. That doesnt say anything over $2000 to me, unless its got some special mods or options.
As a trade I do get it. It'll just be a wholesale piece for the dealer. I was just pointing out the crashing used car prices. I've been periodically checking my car's value at CarMax as I've been waiting for the Maverick. I'd love to sell my Cruze privately. I could probably get $5k for it. But then I'd be waiting for the angry phone call that I sold a defective car. Not worth the bother.
