My dealer told me the price is locked in from the day I ordered. Price Protection. If it doesn't get here until next August, I will still get the price when it was ordered.
lol.... good luck with that!

Pretty sure its invoice minus .04%, the fees for paperwork/documentation are set by Ford controlled by a dealers acceptance of using x plan.
Invoice minus .4%, not .04. :p

I wondered the same thing and was just told from my dealer that all custom orders and especially ones we’re reservation based have zero mark up and will be still sold at MSRP

They jacked you up $5K on a retail order??? I hope no one else orders a Maverick from [them]. That's ridiculous on a retail order. I'm sorry to hear they did that to you, after the fact. This is not a Bronco. We will be swimming in Mavericks soon.

But, man that's a beautiful truck. Congrats!

UPDATE: After checking your posting history, I see you didn't retail order, but pre-purchased an incoming truck and awaited delivery. I would expect ADM in this scenario. My bad.

Yeah non the less it is price gouging and Ford may have weigh in if it gets out of hand. Supposedly cost is one of the draws. TV adds are misleading and so are dealer adds. Consumers that are tight in money will weigh in and competition will stratagize. I let them know I could see their bait and switch. In my case I was able to take some profits from my investment portfolio. In the end I am curious as the statistics reveal that Gen z and Milinnials are big fans. I am a baby boomer down sizing and love performance and value. I live in the Northwest and FWD doesn't work well here. For me this truck is perfect. MSRP is false advertising.

We Live in the Midwest. Corn Country. My dealer is in a small town (about 2400). I play golf with him and his only salesman about once a week. I have been buying from him for over 30 years. I think I'm safe on the price. BTW it will be less than MSRP.
I remember back in the 70's-80's when I was selling Ford tractors and equipment, Ford had Price Protection. We never had any problems then, and we could wait 6 months for an order.
I'm not worried.

You don't have to trade in with them. Get an online quote from Carmax and or Carvana first, then you will have a fair price in mind to compare with what they offer for your trade-in. I sold my Jeep to Carvana, it took about 1 hour and I left with a check in my pocket. It does take a couple days for that money to show up in your account after you deposit it.
I just set up to sell my car with Carvana. May have to rent a car for a couple of days before my truck gets here (saying the week after Thanksgiving now) appreciate your input.

Sold our Rogue to them last year - quick and easy, no hassle. Similar experience selling my Ranger with Carmax In October when my Maverick hit the lot (after taxes were considered dealer would still have been close to $4K apart...).

They have already raised the price of the truck by $645 calling it the acquisition fee . this fee was not on the truck I order in june (cancelled) or the truck I got on 10\30 .
Check the finance button and the $645 disappears. The $645 is a fee charged to sell the truck to a company which which agrees to buy the vehicle at the end of the lease. Most of it MIGHT go to purchase a bond to pay for you not performing under the lease. I do not know past the fact that the build price defaults to a lease so you can see how cheap it is by the month. I suspect the cash payment up front is dealer profit for selling the vehicle and the lessor buys the car from Ford at a fleet price. Do not know for sure.

On this general topic, of course the price of the Maverick will go up.

I do think that the Maverick's pricing will remain comparatively low against the competition (and against industry sales values as a whole), because I think it is a first real test by Ford to move to a build-to-order sales model. They can't build to order and then deliver to buyers at different prices - that means a price that is higher (in today's world ADMs) or lower (in the past heavy discount of on-lot inventory).

So Ford pushes for dealers to not mark up retail orders, turns a blind eye to ADM on stock orders, but also minimizes the ability to order as stock inventory and to the best of their ability incentivizes dealers to push the build-to-order process.

How does this relate to Maverick pricing? Well I'm thinking the following:

Old process: Manufacturers build inventory, ship to dealer at inflated MSRP, large lot inventory necessitates regular discounts, which the buying public expects to see

New process: Build to order, customer has agreed-upon pricing up-front, vehicle is priced aggressively so that incentives are no longer needed to move already built inventory. Lot inventory is minimized and primarily for demo needs, incentives aren't needed and Ford still remains competitive. Having a lower advertised price also means less leg work for the consumer, and they immediately see the value, without having to wait for discounts or do the additional math to figure out if something is a good deal.

You have the perfect climate for the new process. Inflated vehicle costs that make an aggressive MSRP look like a solid deal where a discount isn't needed to move inventory. Future incentives can be limited to customer loyalty programs (Ford points, repeat customer, etc). All Ford really has to do is deliver here - so far a few hiccups on this front, but at least not 100% their doing. I think they are putting themselves in a solid position (and is the main reason I've bought a few shares in the last 4 months myself).

Thanks as have own as high as 550 shares and now down to 400 after trimming and locking profits. Average share price was under $9
I completed the paperwork to get an x-plan PIN earlier. I emailed it and also mailed a hard copy. Both were mailed/emailed on 11/04/21. I’ve gotten no response. Anyone know how to check or follow up on this request or how long it normally takes to receive a PIN?
