I have no idea. The B&D charger charges the other cars, but it's charging indicator doesn't flash on-and-off when inserted in the lighter socket of the Mav (like it will in the other cars when actually charging).

I concluded that no flashing could mean one of two things: it could mean my Mav 12v battery was fully charged OR the charger wasn't working. So I ran some process-of-elimination tests. Found that the Mav's 12v battery was definitely down and needed charging, but no amount of time on the B&D charger would charge it up. Meanwhile, it would charge with a more traditional direct charger.
I'm pretty sure the 12V socket in the Maverick is only "active" when the vehicle is switched ON, and remains on after you switch the vehicle off for the same brief time period as the lights and radio stay on...

Because of the above, I seriously doubt you can use the aux power plug to charge the battery...

That would explain it. Thx.

Yep. Much like the interior lights, the infotainment system, etc. will time out within 15 minutes of turning off the vehicle, so too will the 12V (and 110V if equipped) outlets.

There are "jump and charge" terminals under the hood near the fuse box. My Maverick goes into sleep mode all the time. I now connect a charger to those terminals once in a while and have been able to keep it from sleeping. A trickle charger connected to those terminals sounds like a good idea - a better idea would be to get Ford to fix the problem.
