I see in January's Consumer Reports that they put Ford pretty far down the reliability list with the exception of the Maverick, which is still on the "Most Reliable" list just a tic below last year. The 71 rating is based on the Ecoboost engine. The Hybrid is rated 60. Looks like the F-150 Hybrid was the least reliable of the Fords at 19. Does any of this mean anything? I dunno.

Fortunately they grade on a curve, so we all pass. Average is 41-60. Anyway it's mostly based on owner's input, and maybe it's just because Maverick owner's love their trucks and would never say anything bad about them.

There is no way to know if these are reliable until about ten years out IMO.

My dad’s Acura was reliable until five years in when the first transmission went. Then the second one. He sold it before the third blew (Honda had a design problem back in the 2000’s).

We can go off Escape hybrids as well as the later model Fusions for the hybrid. Honestly, there seems to be a bad transmission design with them affecting cars as they get past 100k miles. Something about a transfer bearing going bad.

In addition we also have the clutch dampener on the hybrids that have been going bad under 10k miles sounding like marbles. This is a continuation of the Escape hybrid issues.

The above shows Ford did not fix the issues present in the HF35 transmission when they designed the HF45, which is concerning.

Lets not mention the CV axles, the hybrid battery exhaust heat exchanger, or the litany of deep sleep/no starts.

I’m not shitting on the vehicle, I love its form factor, but it is frustrating as an end user that Ford does not care about fixing design problems. I can handle smaller repairs but transmission issues transcending multiple model years and vehicles? No excuse.

Any word on the 23 Ranger so I can get an idea of what to expect with the 2024 model? Or should I go pick up a '23 Tacoma instead?

Sorry Jenny, both of those vehicles were left off the list. Apparently too small a sample size?

Seriously? The majority of this place are owners bitching about every single thing on the Mav...
