I liked the Manual controls on the BS BB more than the controls on My 2025 Maverick

I don't like talking to My cars but I'll have to try the Voice Control because i don't care for the controls on the Screen.
To be honest, on the Maverick with it's well laid out touch screen with the climate controls always visible in the same location at the bottom, I feel that those complaining about the loss of physical controls mainly are complaining based on the idea more than the actual loss of the controls. Because to be honest they are just as easy to use as the physical controls were on the 2024 if not a bit easier. They are easier to reach because they are at the same level as the instrument cluster. You don't have to reach down. And viewing them is no more distracting than glancing at your speedometer. Again, I think people hate the IDEA more than the actual execution on the Maverick. As others have stated the Mavericks climate control layout is probably the best of any vehicle including other Ford products

I owned a 22 Ford Maverick Lariat and currently drive a 25 Ford Maverick Lariat. The 25 Maverick is safer than the 22 Maverick! More voice control with the 25. Also the 25 Mav has 360 camera with more sensors. For climate control, just use Auto Climate. If you do change the HVAC settings, the touch control is safer than the physical controls...the touch controls location is higher, closer to the line of eyesight, than the physical controls. IMHO, the 25 Ford Maverick is a safer than the 22 Ford Maverick.
I agree 100%. These are the ONLY touch screen climate controls that I don't despise. Literally easier to use and less distracting than many physical controls

Ford should be ahead in the safety world not behind.
We should have full voice control by now.
Like Tesla.

Example:
( I named my truck Pepper after Pepper Pots in Iron Man ) The color, hot pepper red.

Typical voice command:
‘Pepper’ cool the cabin to 72 degrees, and turn up the radio 4 points.

My eyes never left the road.
It’s that simple.
Ford, Step up.

Pepper, sport mode please. Etc.

It’s 2025, we should not have to ever touch that screen while underway.
You CAN control the Temp with voice controls on the 2025. However with the way the controls are located, it's just as safe to use the screen on the Maverick for those who don't want to use voice commands. If you've never used the MAVERICK screen to adjust the climate control, discard all pre judgements .

I have a Tesla and a 2024 Maverick. I also would not buy a 2025 due to the change, even though the Tesla does not bother me. Unless they can make it work as well as Tesla (and it absolutely does not), they - and anyone else - need to stick with physical buttons. This is 100% cost cutting, and that's true for Tesla as well but at least their screen is as responsive as my iPad. All they needed to do was add the bigger screen but leave the climate panel and I'd have bought a 2025.

To say that the 2025 is somehow "less safe" than a 2024 is really hyperbolic, though. If you're really concerned with safety, you should probably consider a vehicle that scores better in safety testing - the test results are the same for all models 2022-2025 and there are some fairly disappointing data points in the numbers.
You actually seen and used the Maverick controls on the 2025? If not, try them before making a final decision.

I know. I am a 60 year old fart myself. But I made the mistake and bought a 2025 . Then I found that the touch screen was too easy to use. And it ruined my desire to complain 😅

Glad I have physical knobs on my 22 . one reason I wouldn't buy a 25 Mav . I wouldn't own a vehicle that operates all controls thru a touch screen . touch screens not my thing . to each their own imo .

Cool photo but my hometown in the "valley" of Wyoming is 6200ft. :D
Mountains there are much higher.

And I agree, touchscreens are bad in cars- buttons or knobs you can feel with minimal worries.

The original Ford Taurus revolutionized the buttons and knobs- they all had different shapes, sizes, and feels so you could operate without looking. Before that cars had lots of switches next to each other that all felt the same.

How does that work for people who are mute? And I HATE auto climate because it decides how hard to blow. Some people have eye issues, not me but someone who rides with me, and they can't handle strong wind in their eyes. It should not be required to wear safety goggles so the truck can control the climate instead of me turning a knob. 360 camera DOES not keep your eyes on the road and the point of the article is people looking away at the screen is the safety problem. So now you have MORE reasons to look away from the road?
Don't point the vents at your eyes?
The cameras are only for low speed, like garage or parking lot.

Ford Sync 4 comes w 2025 Mavericks on XLT & Lariat trims. I don't have my vehicle yet, so I can;t speak from experience using it, but I read that it does let you control heating & AC from voice commands.
That is correct and it works great!

I test drove a 25 and a 24. I did not like the 25 screen and controls but could have adapted to it. I really didn't like the digital dash. So I bought a 24.
Oh no, you brought the dash into the conversation! ROFL I thought the previous dash looked very nice, clear, useful. New dash does look pretty bad.

Studies have been conducted for quite some time about cell phones and other distractions taking focus away from the task at hand. People are always in denial until it is proven to them.

First time I connected my phone to the Maverick it asked if I wanted to enable texting. I chose NO. There is NO message so important that it has to be answered while driving. I remember when you had to pull off the road, find a pay phone, make sure you had plenty of change to make a phone call. And not once in those days did I miss an important message.I have observed with young kids 2 to 10 years old that as soon as they have a tablet or phone in their hands they are oblivious to everything around them. Witnessed a 4 year old with a tablet walk off the side on an inground pool tablet and all. Dad got mad about the tablet being ruined. Priorities are screwed up. Adults are no better.
Completely different set of expectations by society as a whole now. They expect everyone to be available at any time at a moments notice. Even if it is largely pointless and could have waited. You suggest to people they could actually leave home and go someplace without a cell phone and they lose their minds! It isn't SAFE! ROFL Connected everything, 24/7/365.

Bullshit. 22-24 owners have to take their hand off the wheel (or reach) to adjust the temperature. 2025 owners don't have to.
But they don't have to take their EYES OFF THE ROAD which is the relevant and important metric here.
