The hybrid Maverick is the only vehicle on the road right now that meets my particular needs:
  • good commuter mileage (equivalent to my gas Civic hatchback)
  • cargo bed (so tired of hauling smelly gas cans, feed, etc. in the hatchback)
  • right-sized (I'm short!)
This is my first special order--I've always bought off the lot before. The wait is annoying, but until another manufacturer can provide those three needs, I'm sticking with the Maverick. I ordered in September, and I hope to see a MY22, but if it pushes to MY23, c'est la vie.

I wasn't even planning to replace my current vehicle until I discovered the Maverick, so unlike a lot of folks on this forum, I can afford to wait a bit. I sure hope those of you who need a truck now, can get built soon.

Those are my reasons for waiting it out. What are yours?

I am putting off my retirement until my truck arrives. It was also my retirement gift to myself.

Had a 2002 sport trac. Loved the truck hated the gas mileage. Sold it 3 years ago and been waiting for something. Ford solved my wait. It was time to buy. I see nothing on the horizon that will beat it.

Been using it all week to clear out an apartment for a friend. The soft cover is so easy to remove than the hard fold in half sport trac cover. The bed mat is easier on my knees too.

I ordered my Maverick in Aug, I think the 4th...but I received my Maverick on Jan. 20th. It was at the dealership on the 14th. I couldn't get time off to go buy it. The dealership was great. Gave me a fair price on my 2018 Challenger. It took 60 to 65 minutes for me to drive off the lot. They financed the reminder, too!!! This is my first new Ford ever. X Chevy guy. Gm is truly crappy. I bought three new Mopars. They were good to me. I few minor problems, nothing like Chevy's. My new better half bought new 2017 Coyote 5.0 F-150. Loves it. It's a great truck, but it is a short bed reg cab. So when this Maverick popped up, I decided to just go for it. I don't miss my Challenger at all. This Maverick is quieter than my 2018 Challenger. I have hauled 400 pounds of dirt and yard supplies in the back, not a problem!!! This is a new life style vehicle!

Because (1) I’ve always said I would buy the first affordable hybrid truck (mileage). (2) I intend to take advantage of the current upside down market and flip at least one. (3) I intend to take advantage of the current upside down market and flip at least one. Never mind. I’ve said that twice now. This is when I get to exact some revenge for getting screwed so many times on devalued vehicles. Lol

Wow. I ordered my Maverick for the same reason. I will retire this year, so I ordered a Oxford White Lariat FX/4, tow pak, bed lighting, aux inverter, and passenger side tool box. Love this little truck.

The price point and the hybrid option make it worth the wait. I'm talking like a year wait. Beyond that I'm not sure what I would do.

I am getting the Maverick because I want to get a small boat (18ft or so), I want something that will carry mulch without needing to throw bags in my Veloster N (which I will be trading in), and the performance is only slightly less than the N, while it gets better mpg. Bonus, it has more room in the cabin, especially in the backseat. Only downside would be the speakers compared to the N(which aren't great), but that can easily be fixed. Overall I'm excited, it'll be my first Ford or truck.
