Hey everyone I have been looking into getting a tune for my 2024 Tremor EcoBoost. I'm currently torn between 3 different options and I have seen a lot of posts about them separately but not many comparisons.

I'm looking at either livernoise tune, COBB tune, or 5 star tune. I'm located in Charlotte NC so I believe the 5 star guys are actually fairly close to where I am and I'm considering reaching out to see if they can actually tune me on the dyno.

Could anyone share their experiences with these different options. I'm curious about drivability, how the different driving modes are affected, power gains, transmission tuning, towing, and any other info you can share so I can make a well educated decision.

Any help would be awesome thanks guys!!😁

The COBB Accessport V3 is widely considered the gold standard for EcoBoost platforms. It is favored for its ease of use, high-resolution display that acts as a multi-gauge, and the availability of "Off The Shelf" (OTS) maps that provide safe, reliable power increases without needing a custom dyno session.

I had a 5-star on my F-150 and it was excellent. Got one for the Maverick and it worked - except - it messed with the cruise control where it would overshoot/undershoot the set speed and I'd have to disable and reset it on hilly terrain. Really a bummer because I use cruise whenever I'm travelling. So I took the tune off.

Contact with them brought back one of those "must be something else wrong" kind of answers. But it wasn't something else. Cruise works great without the tune, not with the tune.

I think livernois still uses the SCT flash units along with 5star or they use HP tuners equipment I don't remember. ive used SCT stuff for 25 years almost on different vehicles. they have good tools. I've also used the Cobb access port for the last 10 years on my mustang. its a quality piece too. whatever you do they all serve the same function, getting the program from youremail to the vehicle. what you want to research is who's writing the information that your putting in the vehicle. that's what's important. not how its getting there.
my tuners of choice would be Adam at TunePlus or Ryan at EMS

The turbo rocket fuel lol 🤣. I definitely need some of that stuff lol.

I am looking at putting meth on it too though. Mainly for the fact that it will keep the valves clean with the DI engine. It obviously has other benefits too though. I had it on my SAAB which I sold to buy the Maverick. That had a big turbo and a ton of engine work I did to it. The meth kept the engine squeaky clean though lol. But that's a whole nother SAAB story lol 😆.

Thanks for the recommendations on the tunes guys. I was actually leaning towards 5 star since they are local to me but yeah the loss of cruise control would be a deal breaker for me too. I added adaptive cruise and use it all the time commuting in and out of Charlotte. I wonder if anyone else had the same issue with them though. I'm curious if anyone else who has used them can chime in if there is anyone on here.

As for the hardware I totally understand that this isn't my first rodeo with tuning a vehicle. Like Vic said I am mainly looking for advice from people on a good tuner to work with.

Vic have you used the two people you recommended for a maverick before I would be curious to see some info on how their tunes perform with the maverick.

I'm not sure that it affected all versions of cruise control. I have a 24 Lariat which has the more sophisticated adaptive cruise control, though I don't use the adaptive feature. I just use it as a regular cruise.

They used to be decent to deal with so you could give 5-star a call and explain that you know someone that had cruise control issues with the tune, that went away when returned to stock.

set on your hands, you will be happier in the long run, don't even stick one of those "Fixed" thingys in the obd Port,I don't know if this will work or not,you can get a nerd with a laptop to modify a few things( got my "start stop disabled, nest $40 I ever spent, computers are a sore spot these days, some being manufactured with "volatile" memories for petes sake( they have moved "planned" obsolescence to new level)
