Is Ford done until the 2023 model year? When do you think we can put order in again?

Yes ordering is done for 22MY. It seems ordering for 23MY will open up ~Aug 16.

2023 Maverick Timeline:
  • August 16 order bank open
  • September 15 scheduling begins
  • October 6 retail scheduling
  • October 24 1st production
  • October 27 OK to buy

Just curious, if this timeline holds does that mean 22MY will be produced right up until Oct. 24th, or is there a pause for whatever reason? I guess I'm trying to figure when the production for 22s will cease.

Companies have worked very hard to accelerate change over. My guess is that there will a very slight pause (days?) between the final 22 and the first 23.

There is no pause. It’s an integrated build for the most part. Half of a shift or maybe an entire shift max to switch from one model year to the next

I wonder what happens if they don't build your 2022. When you have to reorder a 2023 model, I bet Ford isn't sophisticated enough to remember your virtual place in line. It could be a reset of super long waits for those yet again?

It was a publicity stunt to close orders and get drama going for more orders.

they will open orders in a couple months

I wonder how much notice 22 orders will get that their trucks won't get built as 22s? The day before orders open back up again in August?

And the Allocation process starts over 😂. All the dealers that received maverick to sell get more because they sold them. The dealers who had many on order but didn’t receive them because they had low allocation didn’t sell any maverick so they don’t get any for 23 either!

You think we have “places in the line”? We have orders in but Ford is anything but first come first served.

My guess is if you don’t have a production date by August 16 you won’t be getting a 22. That gives them ~8 weeks to finish up, they should be scheduled by then.

That makes sense. It would be nice to get a heads up from Ford before having to reorder and go back in the ping pong ball hopper. Probably asking too much though.

Good luck

If it came to that your dealer would have to covert your order to a 23 basically remove features not in 23 model year if any and resubmit. They have had to do this with many vehicles due to commodity shortages.

Considering that Ford schedules production nearly 2 months in advance (this week they were scheduling builds for last week in March), the writing will be on the wall if you do not have a scheduled build by mid June/early July.
