Seems like they both must run at the same time--even if just when starting up/slowing down.
Do they normally run at the same time? Wehn the EV meter says 'Hybrid' I am assuming they both are running?
Seems simple to answer but not so, at least for me.
Thanks for any help.

Hybrid means both Traction Motor and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) are being used for propulsion.

Blue color is used for EV only.
Grey color is used for Hybrid.
There is no ICE only color, though when parked and the ICE is running, the TM isn't being used.
And there are plenty of times with ICE going there is no TM propelling, and other times there is.

Slowing down is exactly when the ICE doesn't run, unless it's cold or High Voltage Battery (HVB) is low.
Some starting up/moving the ICE may not run.

Turn your radio off - you can hear the ICE.

Watch this, and use the forum search feature - it's been out for more than a year, a lot written that can help.

Thank you for the details.
So there is no Gas Engine only display, just Hybrid and Electric...
I like the vehicle no matter what. Lots of asinine questions though.
