Hit and Run , Ouch!

On 11/12/25, taking off from a light, 25 to 30 m.p.h., a lady crossed into our lane, hit us head on with her car, into our drivers side, no airbag deployed on Mav.,hers did deploy, she backed up off of Mav , and we thought she was pulling off road, but ran.

Police came took a report, during that time a Good Samaritan came, said he followed the car, found it's resting place and made identity of women and car. Officer went and ticketed her for,hit and run, leaving scene of accident, and no license, not sure about insurance on car.

Needless to say truck is at body shop for estimate and repairs.

Lady was also under the influence, but officer not allowed to arrest on that since he did not see her driving UGH, again.
Some soreness with wife's hip, and my right shoulder do to holding onto wheel during impact, but nothing broken, could have been worse.

Yes , but officer said ,she was already in her house , so they cannot have proven that she was dwi before driving or after she got home, one hour or so.

I had someone key the side panel of my car because admittedly I did park too close to them, but they backed into a front angle space only so they’re at least 1/4 at fault. I am thinking of going back to the Parking Deck and seen if I can look at the security footage, cause I know exactly when they left And they had to go through a pay gate so when I asked the parking company, they said I have to file a police report first so I’m thinking of doing that

Yes she should have been jailed as most states do if she left the scene.

If she did not have a valid drivers license most Insurance Companies will not cover any claim on unlicensed drivers....hope you have non-insured motorist as part of your insurance. I'd check the body shop to see if there is a storage fee...had a damaged tire in a stolen car and the body shop hit me for 10 days of storage at $150 a day.

I never keep a car after a car crash, get it fixed and sell it ASAP, the hit should appears after a year or two, the clear coat won't hold the sun and environment, it's better to trade it or sell it now

Not to sound like a grammar nark, but I did have a hard time reading the second paragraph. Lots of typos, improper grammar and run-on sentences.

From what I could gather, the woman who hit you took off, a good Samaritan tracked them down for the police and found it just to discover they have no license or insurance? Of course, they are. That always seems to be the case.

Anytime a good driver with no accidents and good insurance gets involved with an idiot driver, they're almost always either unlicensed, uninsured or both.

Diffently had uninsured coverage, and body shop I had it towed to ,I have been a customer for 20 yrs. All good there.
