What is going on with my exhaust?

If you take a look at the hangar, his tailpipe is wedged up in between the hangar (circled it below). This is probably trapping the exhaust against the bed and bumper cover, and yes it does look like it's too far aft, if it was hanging down the isolator would rotate bringing it further forward.

This is the answer. Your exhaust is not aligned correctly, and that is clear in this picture by the way your rear exhaust hanger is situated.

I purchased these adjustable hanger mounts when I installed my aftermarket catback. $15 for a set of 2. They fit fine on the Maverick and may get the tailpipe better aligned or at least a bit more clearance…
