Like David @Redneck Garage said, get your financing in line beforehand. You'll usually find your best rates from a credit union. My truck is just awaiting a car hauler to bring it to the dealer. I already have a pre-approval on my loan, at a great rate, from my local credit union.
I have 3 credit union accounts & not one of them could beat Fords rate last Nov. when I picked up my Mav 474 days after ordering it. (Also have excellent credit) I, & the credit unions have never heard that happening before. Crazy world. Definitely do your homework before arriving @ the dealership.

I was supposedly locked in at 2.9% at the time of my order. Is it not normal to lock in a rate at time of order? Or is this rate not truly "locked" in.

If you are talking about a 2022 Order, it WAS/IS locked. If you are getting a 2023 now instead, there were no 2023 incentives and you have no lock.

It is a 2023. It wasn't an incentive, just what my salesman did when I ordered it.

Maybe somewhere other than Ford? I think some areas had 3.99% from Ford in November, but not everywhere.

I ordered in September. Pretty sure it is through Ford, as it is a Ford dealership.

I got pre-approved several weeks ago for 3.74% (with auto-pay) for a new vehicle through a credit union for 60 days. Glad I did because the next week it was 4.74%. That same rate was the same for 3 to 7 years of payoff. I was then able find buy a new Maverick through the internet sales department and did not have to deal with financing provided by the dealership. I did have to listen to everything else they were tying to sell me though, like extended warranty, undercoating etc. over the phone. Happy with purchase.

Hello everyone! Just trying to get a feel to see what people are seeing out there regarding apr rates. I know there are a bunch of variables but someone with good/excellent credit just trying to see what people are seeing from Ford/Local Credit Union. Also any rollover 2022 with vins get their 23s and get a good credit rate? Thanks!!
I was charged an 8.9% rate when I bought my Maverick last month. The dealer was mostly honest in that they were willing to sell at MSRP (+ a $1k paint and fabric protection package). I wanted to pay cash but the dealer wouldn't sell it to me unless I financed thru them so they could also profit from the financing. Had I refused or come in with my own financing, they would have just refused to sell and since there was a line of people waiting to buy it if I didn't, I went ahead and used their financing. But I'll pay it off at the 90-day mark and the minimal interest I'll end up paying is still a way better deal that paying the thousands over MSRP that some dealers are charging.

"special" low rates from Ford Credit are protected under "incentive protection". None of these were available for 2023 Maverick during the ordering period.

There was a "rate lock program" through Ford Credit....where rates could be locked in for 180 days on certain retail orders (rather than the standard 30), but Maverick was not included in this.

It is possible that your dealer has an agreement w/ a local bank?? Or that rate is not locked in.

I think I will give Tower a shot for $35. If I can get even under 4% I'd be happy because thr best my credit union can do is 4.9

Any update on the Tower 2.99? Truck is shipped and I'm shopping for loans today. Wonder if there's a catch with the Tower APR? Thanks!

No, I'm waiting for mine to at least ship before I start shopping. It took three weeks to say built so who knows when it will ship.

I asked my dealer what his rate was and he said 6% - 9%. My credit union is offering 4.49% for 5 years and it has be an auto deduction from my account which is fine by me. YMMV.

So kinda a weird question but I figured I would ask anyway

I ordered from Long McArthur so an out of state purchase is what I'm dealing with. My plan is to wait until my truck goes into production then see what kind of rates I can get with my bank. I also want to apply for Ford credit and see what they offer.

Should I contact the dealership and apply for credit there as well to see what rates I can get? Because LM Ford is offering $1000 if I finance with them.

My overall plan is to put around 50% down and finance the rest. Then pay off the balance within 6-10 months.
I know I have to watch for early payment fees, but is there anything else I should know/watchout for with this plan I have?

Overall the financing rates dont bother me too much because like I said earlier I plan on paying off the loan in 6-10 months.

We just locked in at 4.04% for 48 months through Congressional Federal Credit Union. Our Maverick is slated to be delivered the week after next.
