Since it seems like the truck isnt very fast at recharging its 12v battery when drained. With all the extra lights im adding, mine will need some extra help. So what device do you use to getting fully charged again?

I have a noco genius 5. Need at least a 4amp maintainer to be able to make progress when periodic drains occur. A ten amp would be better particularly with the larger ecoboost AGM. I would recommend the noco genius 10. Plan on leaving it on for several days about every three months so it can run it's optimizing routine. Do not connect anything including the charger directly to the negative battery post connect on the body or past the BMS attached to the negative post.

I'm not quite understanding what you're trying to say regarding connecting to the negative post or or the past the BMS.

Are you just saying to use the under the hood connection points?

You can use the negative cable body ground post as mentioned or you can use the negative connector right where it is crimped to the cable (or any other chassis ground for that matter). You just need to be sure that the BMS module is between your negative charger connection and the negative battery post. Don't connect directly to the negative battery post when charging or the BMS won't be able to track state of charge.

I've been using PulseTech Xtreme chargers for years, and have been very pleased with them. I've been getting 7-8 years out of a battery since I've been using them.

Is it better for the battery to charge at a lower amperage? Will a higher current shorten the batteries lifespan?

Ive not seen a charging situation where higher amps is better than the lower amp option. higher amps tend to produce more heat which can cause other issue.

And a trickle charger should not be left on indefinitely like a battery maintainer.

FYI. I have 2022 maverick hybrid XLT LUX going in next week for it's 2nd annual oil change with 2592 miles. (Not primary use wife's 2022 lariat first edition has just over 31,200 miles). Yesterday on my XLT I took noco g5 off after five days being double locked and put it into accessory with head lights, radio, AC, all off. Then after few minutes the dash PowerPoint voltage monitor settled at 12.9v so my Ford OEM 12V so bms must think it's 100% charged. Every few minutes it would bump to 13.1 presumably because something is turning on, then drop back to 12.9v. is time for my noco to visit a different battery then another then yet another. Will be couple months or so before XLT can see it again.

What you really want is a smart, multi-stage charger that is capable of charging at a rate of at least 4 amps for the bulk stage and automatically switches to absorption and float stages. A proper float charger can be used indefinitely without damage to the battery, and some will actually extend the life of the battery through desulfation.

Noco and Pulsetech both have chargers with these capabilities.

I've been using a Ctek MXS 5.0 the last couple of years on an old Porsche, works great.
