Which dealer?Maverick just got delivered today (April 6, 2022)
Salesman says it went thru PDI but it's on hold due to a recall. He said Ford hasn't released the fix yet. I'm bummed.

Atleast it has been built and you can actually see it. Not sure that means much, but you are close to having it in your driveway. Congrats!Maverick just got delivered today (April 6, 2022)

So close yet so far.Atleast it has been built and you can actually see it. Not sure that means much, but you are close to having it in your driveway. Congrats!
In general he said it was the tow package. So I'm guessing one of those components.Sorry.Was he more specific? Is it the brake controller?
If it's for the trailer tow recall (22S17), that should not be a "stop sale" recall and you should be able to get your Maverick and have the software update done later. In general he said it was the tow package. So I'm guessing one of those components.
Yeah, I would do like @Milous mentioned. Might be related. Or else you're unlucky and got a recall that no one has gotten yet. I kind of doubt it...hopefully it's not true.In general he said it was the tow package. So I'm guessing one of those components.
I'll call back tomorrow. Checked the vin on the link above and yes, it is affected. If it's for the trailer tow recall (22S17), that should not be a "stop sale" recall and you should be able to get your Maverick and have the software update done later.
I believe the Trailer update was done at the plant in February. If you just got yours it seems it would have been built in March?
Did you check your VIN for recalls? (https://www.ford.com/support/recalls/)
I've had a great experience so far with Titus-Will Ford in Tacoma. No mark-up, MSRP only.Checking in from the north end of Seattle. Any dealership recommendations and positive experiences with the ordering process?
Yeah, I am affected by this recall too. But it states vehicle can be driven in the recall info. Vehicle hold unnecessary. Additionally, they are not anticipated to start rolling out the fix until approximately the 19th. That's too long to hold for something like this.I'll call back tomorrow. Initial conversation I had with the sales mgr. (aka the salesman) he said the service manager would not release the vehicle to the sales dept. until the recall is fixed.
Stay tuned.
edit: mine was built in February 2022
I called. They said they would not release newly delivered Mavericks until the fix is in, that instruction coming from Ford and not the dealership. I'm really bummed. I have a trip planned to get together with my brother and a few friends doing some spring camping in the Canadian rockies.Yeah, I am affected by this recall too. Contact Ford's customer service department at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall number 22S17, tell them dealer won't release vehicle and see what they say.I called. Ordering from high volume dealers seems to have been the best option. I had zero runarounds at Bowen Scarff. In and out in an hour and a half.Just wanted to give a shout-out to Mullinax Ford of Olympia, WA.
Order placed June 2021 - XLT Hybrid. Delivered March 2022.
Salesman told me verbally at the time of order that it would be @ MSRP. Never signed anything to guarantee pricing. I trusted them based upon online reviews from other customers.
- MSRP + tax and license
- Price protection - YES
- Ford Credit 0.0%/36 mo. Financing (rate from June 2021) - YES
- No hard-push for any add-ons
- NO DOCUMENT FEE (!!!!!!)
- No other hidden fees or trickery
Smooth as silk all the way, a GREAT experience that I wish other dealerships would learn from, especially after reading all of the negative experiences that fellow MTC members have had or are going through.
