Spotted a Mav at a Bar n grill and was going to ask who here is day drinking(I wont give your plate away). I got to my next job and hopped out and taking pictures of the subs work. Hopped back in my Silverado and had a message from Chris at Awesome Ford. Hey buddy we got a Maverick for you. I was blown away because just never thought it would happen. My mind was going to wait till 2024. Welp next text came in with pictures...Basic XL in Cactus. I got a little excited. Called him and said I'm on my way.
Drove a hr home a little faster than normal of course. Jumped out and grabbed the keys for the Hyundai and ripped everything out of it, told the wife hurry up. They sure can drag their feet when we are excited haha.
Drove 45min To Awesome Ford in Chehalis Wa. (Also where I bought my lay up Kona car), which was a great car and very comfortable to drive. I will give that car a thumbs up. I had the Kona for 2 months and only made one payment and put 4400miles on it. Yes I drive A lot but I get paid well for it and it is not in the city.
Well we arrive and greeted by Chris..He said "I'll be right back gotta go fill it up". He came back and then we left on a test drive. Everything went good, the one flaw I didn't like was not having powered mirrors. Been a long time not having that function.
Now came the talk of the real Game.
They paid off the Kona so no negative equity(I did throw 10g as a down payment on the Kona). It was all gambling moves on my part. I never expected this to happen this fast or I would've had 19k to put down on the Maverick. Any ways...I kept my cash and finaced the Kona at MSRP but I did add the GAP and extended warranty. So it brought it up to 28k. You want to talk about a Dealer standing up for what is right(they told me in the past that they would sell at msrp if one fell through). Not only did they say those words, they stood by them words. I will never buy another vehicle from any other Dealer. Awesome Ford earned my business for life. I'm still ordering a 24' as this one will become my daughters and then we will get my wife a new rig from them also.
I will be adding xlt wheels, roll up bed cover, and tint windows asap.
First hybrid I've owned but started figuring it out on my 38 mile drive home. It only had 12 miles on it.
I will recommend Awesome Ford to anyone in Washington state. Put them on your good list!
I am a Maverick Hybrid owner. Time to break out the manual haha

If a dealer sold me a new Maverick at MSRP in this market, after the original customer who ordered it refused delivery, they'd have my business for life as well. That's incredible. Spread the word far and wide - Awesome Ford in WA really is awesome!

Congrats on the beautiful new truck!

Awesome story, thanks for sharing. Good you took your love ones with you. I chose not to tell mine, all three times I had to rush over to get a Maverick. Passed on the first, took the second and third, returned the third. Etc. generally time is against you on getting a Maverick when available.

Good to hear of another dealership which did someone right, just as they said they would.
Now get out there and enjoy that truck!

Great story. It is refreshing to hear about a positive experience and a truly HONEST dealership. Sit tight and you will find those wheels. The steelies will not make a difference in how well your Maverick performs. We have two hybrids and average about 43 mpg, with most of it highway driving.

Please make sure you submit a Recommendation via my Google form when you get a chance. I will either add the dealership/salesperson or add another Recommendation to their listing.

Wow. Small world. I just picked up my Maverick xl from Awesome Ford on Saturday. I did order it in October 21, bit of a wait. They were great to deal with No xtra charges , no pushy sales. They were great to work with.

A lot of nice 17" and 18" Escape Wheels are available on Ebay and are quite inexpensive.. You do have to compensate a little bit for the offset .. Maverick is 32.7mm and Escape is 48mm, so 1/2" spacers will bring you out very close to the correct spot, 3/4' spacers will give you a bit more poke (~1/8" more or so) if that matters to you..
