Right after I dropped the wife off at work, was hit when making a left turn with a green arrow. Other driver ran a red light. I have a dash cam ordered, just hasn't been delivered yet. Other driver was honest though, and told the responding police officer that they were distracted and ran the red light. (picture of their vehicle blurred to protect their identity, they were wearing a work badge)

Currently working through their insurance, stopped by my dealer for a quote: currently at $9,500 in repairs.

I'd say it's a pretty safe truck, I walked away with only a sore left arm from hitting the door panel.

Dealer said truck should be safe to drive now as-is, but we'll be taking the wife's Jetta until I can get repairs finalized.

They did admit to being distracted, probably a real safe bet that they were 4 knuckles deep into their phone.
I drive a resort shuttle. I see people staring at their phones all the time. You really can’t trust lights or stop signs anymore.

Is this a masturbating while driving joke?

I used to be a cyclist. Every fifth car passing me was looking at the phone. I could see them wandering slowly across the lane lines left and right as they went down the road.

You can't fix humans - we're irretrievably flawed. But you can get self-driving cars. Nobody really knows when that will be, but when it does happen it'll save a lot of mayhem on the roads. Our grandchildren will look back at (drunk, angry, drugged, sleepy, distracted) humans driving 5,000 pound death machines with horror. It'll seem like the Dark Ages to them.

Be certain you understand “Diminished Value” ASAP, otherwise you will be hosed when the time comes to sell it...

Good luck

Well just remember those machines are being made by humans 😬

Just saw someone plow right thru a red light in an SUV in the lane next to me and my MAV like the light wasn’t even there. I was sitting there stopped along with traffic two lanes over. No regard for traffic or right of way. Just missed oncoming traffic and just kept going. I’m always watching out at greens and any intersections for road runners. No one seems to give a $h:+ at signals or signs anymore !! Glad you’re OK.
