Seems Ford is just treating the symptom dead battery and has no clue what the cause is.
Undercharging, parasitic drain.
I think it is overcharging voltage, too low capacity, and the parasitic drain. Mine charges at 15.4V which is more than any of my battery charges for a flooded battery. the AGMs charge at a higher voltage but still not 15.4v.

Well, I guess I joined the Dead Battery Club this morning. I had some errands to run this morning and after that, I came home and put the truck in the garage. I then came out to go to the store and it would not start and just clicked every time I tried to start it. So I called my local Ford dealer and told them the situation and I was told the battery was out of warranty and I said I wanted to buy a new battery and they sent out a mobile tech and within about thirty minutes they had the new AGM battery installed and me back on the road. I am still waiting for the Dealer to call and let me know how much I owe them for the new battery.

Your truck must be over 3 years old? Otherwise covered under the factory warranty.

The Ford dealer looked up when the battery was made which ended up being in 2021 as my Maverick is a 2022 model. They stated that the battery was out of warranty so it ended up costing me a little over $300.00 for a new battery and the Mobil tech to install it. I'm happy with the outcome and it kept my 71-year-old ass from doing it.

Huh? Do you have a bad dealer? The date of vehicle manufacture is when the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty starts, not the battery manufacturing date. It sounds like your dealer owes you $300.

Well that sucks,I'd be contacting someone at Ford. Every part on that trucks should be covered for 3 years from the date of purchase , with the exception of the tires,I believe they have their own warranty.

Warranty starts when you buy the vehicle not when the parts were made, so dont pay and fight it. My batteries always last about 5 years so Ford is putting sub standard batteries and the there is bad engineering when the battery draws down just parked and off.

All the batteries that Ford is using now are 36-month batteries even my new Ford AGM battery.

I joined the dead battery club today! (n)

No problems this winter with sleep mode or anything but it just died this morning as I tried to start it up. Odd messages on the dash, lights flashing, and then nothing. I uncovered the battery under the back seat and removed the negative cable for a few minutes to see if that would reset something but no help. It was completely dead.

Accessed Ford Roadside Assistance via the FordPass app. They sent someone out but were unable to help since the truck was nose-in to the garage and he couldn't get it into neutral with no power (the alleged park release cord under the console is not there) and he didn't have a jumper cable long enough to reach into the garage. So he left and I called for another Roadside Assistance provider.

In the meantime, I went to O'Reilly's and got one of those battery power pack units. I connected it to the battery and everything started working. I was even able to drive it to the dealer where they are going to replace the battery under warranty. They brought me home and I should be able to get the truck back tomorrow.

I find it amazing that, nowadays, a Roadside Assistance guy didn't even have a Jump Box on board.

He said it had been stolen but he hadn't replaced it.
At least I have one now!
Luckily, never had to use mine on my truck. But I've jumped several other vehicles with it. So much safer & easier than trying to line up two vehicles to get jumper cables close enough to reach both batteries.

So about an hour ago, I called Ford Motor Company Customer Service regarding my local Ford Dealership here in Texas telling me that my battery was out of warranty and charging me a little over $300.00 to replace my original Ford battery in my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT EcoBoost even though my Maverick is still under warranty and that there is a open recall on the batteries. So the person I talked to at Ford Customer Service agreed with me about the situation and opened a case to investigate this hopefully, it will be resolved and I will get the money back that I spent on the new battery.

SO I just went through this today. I didn't see when you took procession of your vehicle, I got mine on 12/27/21 so I was over by about 2 months. My dealer service manager also said that the battery going out is not related to the recall. I intend to keep up with the recall and the class action lawsuit. I had the mobile unit from the dealership come to my house and replace the battery, it cost me $380, of that was $120 labor misc. mystery fees and taxes.
