Weird things after update.

My 25 Hybrid updated overnight. Parked the truck with 30 miles to empty.

Started it today and it was only 6 mte. Drove it for 22 minutes, and the ICE engine never shut off until I turned it off to fill it. Was 27 mpg to the station.

Never had the engine run so long on a local flat drive. Filled up, and it said only 324 mte.

Ate lunch nearby,and drove home. Got 67mpg on the trip meter on the return. Mte went up to 345. Should be going up all week.

Not sure what they updated, but it sure ran a long time after the update.

I just looked at the Ford app. The app shows that the update was installed at 01:00 this morning. My truck has 5,700 miles on it. I had an oil change at about 1,500 miles. The app shows 96% oil life. If I recall correctly, a few weeks ago it said oil life was in the 30+ percent range. Fuel level and range in the app seem correct. I haven't checked the vehicle dashboard yet.

Interesting. I had an oil change because the oil life message was nagging me last week, and it seemed way early, based on the last 38,000 miles.

I had a similar experience with the update as well, truck wouldn't turn off the gas engine until I reached my destination, it was only 3.5km but it would have normally shut off from a cold start 1/2 that way. My range on my tank also halfed to what it was.

The truck only did the engine thing once, so guess it needed to re-learn something. Range esimate is not a concern it'll readjust i'm sure.

Sounds like the update cleared the memory. The truck had to run a lot of tests and learn all the parameters all over again as it it were factory new.

Some updates don't do this.
But this sounds like a deep level of "reboot".

Should be normal soon.

It went back to normal after that first drive. The MTE is still going up.

I got a message on my 25 AWD Hybrid today that this update will take place at 1:00 AM so just a few hours from now. I plan on putting gas in it tomorrow so it'll be interesting to see what happens with the miles until empty and what the projected range is after fueling up.

I think I have one more outstanding update after this and IIRC it has something to do with using a trailer. I'm not sure if that update will be available OTA though.

I got that update the night before I traded in my 25 Lariat, when I started the vehicle the radio was on AM, never listen to AM, I knew they were in my system.

When I had Ford Mobile Service perform the 25C69 recall in the driveway, the MTE was reset and I "lost" something like 160+ miles to empty. After a drive and a refill a few days later, it was climbing back to where it usually is....a "reset" if you will as part of the software update.
