Probably, but I shouldn't have to. Honestly, at this point, I want new padding and carpet because I guarantee it's full of mold underneath. But I'll let them try whatever they think will work. The extent of me doing anything to fix a brand new truck that had a factory defect was more than satisfied by spraying some odor killer on it. I just put a dehumidifier inside the truck just so it doesn't get any worse. I had a change of clothes inside the truck for 4 hours this afternoon. Theyre unwearable due to the smell

I hear ya. But fuck that. What's right is right. I didn't cause it. And it's 4 months old with 3500 miles.

Update. Dealer had car for 5 days. Performed ionization treatment inside car then some sort of odor treatment. It's been about a week since I got car back. No musty odor but it smells like chlorine from treatment. Supposed to dissipate. We'll see.

Update. Dealer had truck for a day and a half. Said the water was getting in from door handle. Apparently the seals were defective. Said they replaced the door handle. Day after I picked up truck we had about 8 inches of rain over 2 days. No water. I guess they fixed it this time.
Possibly the rubber seal was crushed or crumbled when installed. I had a similar issue with an oil seal once, I didn't think it would be a big deal but, yeah it was lol.

Hopefully just a one off.

With the amount of water/mold smell I would for sure be looking to pull the seats out and replace the carpet. A simple detail job isn't going to fix the mold, even if they used a bleach solution.

If you go back a few posts, you'll see that the water was getting in through the door handle. They replaced the handle and the seals and that cured the water problem. Supposedly they pulled the sill plates and inspected as best they could without pulling the interior out and found no evidence of mold. Service manager has been good and knows I will bring it back if there's a problem. Everything is documented.

Drove in a pretty good rain storm the other day. Later that day found the little rectangular "cup" to the left of the back seat on drivers side with about 3/4" of water in it. No wetness anywhere else to be found. It looks like water was forced passed 2 rubber seals at the bottom of the door. Just on the driver's side. Anyone else have this problem?
Hello! Send us a private message with your Maverick's VIN and current mileage. Allow me to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!

Well here we are again. Went to use truck after sitting for 4-5 days and noticed that all too familiar mildew smell. Maybe I've just gotten used to it. Anyway started my inspection and noticed the underside of the floor mat on the rear driver's side had some moisture on it. Checked carpet and yep, it's damp. Probably has been all along. So I guess I'll be sending it back to the dealer for who knows how long this time. My confidence in this vehicle is severely waining.

Update. Dealer has had car since 1/2/24. First call was to tell me they've had water flowing for a while and can't replicate leak. Also asked me where/how car was usually parked. Not sure why that should matter, it shouldn't leak regardless. 2 days later a second call to tell me how much research they've done online and that they're now going to take door panel off again to check the plastic membrane. All stuff I actually printed out and left with truck the previous 2 times it went in for water.🤦 No calls yesterday or today. Guess they didn't fix it yet.

They asked how it's parked to try and replicate the problem. Parked flat, nose down or up can make a difference. So yea it matters.

Thanks🤦. I get why they asked. My point is, I should be able to park it under Niagara falls and it shouldn't get wet inside. Either way, I got this truck in may, and it's still a problem. Definitely selling it even if they fix it.

Dealers are pretty much useless, been without a car or loaner for 25 days from water leaks so far. while it just sits in their back lot.

They've actually been really good/receptive to my issue. But....enough is enough at this point.
