Should only be $100 for a Hybrid.DO NOT REGISTER YOUR TRUCK yet!
I am on the phone with the State right now. Alabama lists the Maverick Hybrid as an electric vehicle and are charging a $200.00 fuel tax. Double check that your county has it set correctly!
I'd like to see the gas tax eliminated and a tax added to every new vehicle, assuming a vehicle life of 20 years and 150k miles. Tax placed in a federal fund dispersed to the states equitably based on registered vehicles. Also, get rid of sales tax on used vehicles.Nobody likes to pay taxes, but I enjoy driving on decent roads. Most road work is paid for by gas taxes and one of the unintended consequences of mandating more fuel-efficient cars is that less gas tax money goes to the state. It's not surprising that Hybrids and EV's are taxed extra when you buy your new plates.
No. Hybrids are zero. State called my county today and told them to fix their system and do not charge me that tax.Should only be $100 for a Hybrid.
Makes sense, should fall under traditional since it is 100% gas powered.No. Hybrids are zero. State called my county today and told them to fix their system and do not charge me that tax.
