Hi all, new here but am attempting to purchase a Maverick like the rest of you. Went to the dealer to see when order banks might open- they had no clue. While I was discussing this with salesperson, he said he had a 22 that is supposed to arrive mid November, and the fella that ordered it isn't taking it and would I like it. XLT, awd, fx4,lux pkg, red pepper? Long story short- it literally is what I was looking for so I said sold. The question is, should I risk letting this go and take a chance on a 23? BTW, we have a Ford engine plant here and the local dealers can't really mark up these units because the employees would flip out.

Hate to bear the bad news, but order banks for 23s closed almost a month ago..so your dealer would be lying about even the possibility of ordering one. You’d either have to buy off lot or wait until 2024s.. someone can correct me if i’m wrong!

I'd take the Maverick available to you right now if it's close enough to what you're looking for. There's no guarantee all 2023 orders will actually be fulfilled due to constraints, so if you have an opportunity to grab a Maverick without a markup, I'd take that.

Also, if you didn't place a MY2023 order yet, then you missed the boat on that unless if they re-open the order banks, so even more reason to grab the 2022 Maverick available to you now.

Do it! You can't order a 2023, not sure maybe you already did. If so, it's like getting 2 Mavs for the price of one full size. I would keep both like I did. His and hers... spread the miles they will last twice as long. Here is my video on this exact subject.

Wait till he hits you with the ADM before you get your heart set on it. Good chance there is a 5-10k markup.

As everyone else mentioned, MY '23 Order banks are close however it looks more likely you will be able to find dealer inventory for '23 over the next 6-8 months. May not be exactly what you would order, but increases chances of paying MSRP by shopping around dealers that expect dealer stock at some point.

Lots of good input. I am able to z- plan here because of the Ford engine plant being so close and half my family working there at one time or another. These dealerships can't risk their core customers for a markup. I have seen a little as 5k and as much as 20k in my searches.

definitely buy it if no mark up. not a question. it will be worth more as soon as you drive off the lot.
