So a year ago this week my truck arrived at the dealer (7/19) I couldn’t buy it until 7/21 because my boss was in town
Looks a bit different now

Just finished reading the thread and it’s awesome. Great job. Interested to follow up on suspension. I’ll have to keep digging for hybrid lowering options and keep an eye out when I am in H-town. (Wife family in Cypress)

Dammit! I was in Austin last weekend and will be again next weekend. Forgot all about Heatwave or I would have planned around it!
It was crazy hot
Very weak attendance
Though there were 4 Mavericks in the event and at least two in the parking lot
Kenneth’s bagged Maverick was in the a/c (his stereo system sounds amazing)
Plus there were two in the car audio competition
Here’s mine melting in the sun

I like the audio system the best since I get to enjoy it daily
But the overall look of the exterior is lovely

Been a month since the last wash
Been too hot outside
Was so embarrassing being that dirty
Should have taken a picture before washing (would have looked mostly clean in pics I’m sure)

Was at the dealership today and was able to check out a new Escape ST Line with the new bigger screen
It’s coming for the Maverick soon I bet

I really like that screen size but I'm not fond of the climate control stuff being in the screen at all. Any vehicle they do that to I will never buy. They could have put a physical button layout below the screen or just kept pretty much the entire layout of the dash on the previous setups and dropped a bigger screen in there just fine. They changed that whole setup in a very weird way. Like, moved the push button start to where the climate control used to be, etc etc.

I'd like to drive an ST-Elite with the 2.0, but I already know just from looking at that layout I could never be happy owning one. So if they do carry it over, I hope it's just the screen. Even if it has to be slightly smaller, just keep the physical button layout like it is. It works great like it is. Borderline Feng shui currently and this new one is like someone wore their shoes inside just to defy the culture.

Hopefully if they bring the ST line to the Mavericks, they do it proper. I'd like to see an RS.

I didn’t even notice the lack of climate controls (I didn’t try to turn it on since it was in the showroom)
Climate controls should always be physical

I didn't notice until your post either. I saw pictures of it online when looking recently and from Tim's coverage on his YT channel but the pics they show have the buttons on it. So I guess this confirms it.

Did you drive it? How were the seats?

I think it also deserves paddle shifters dammit 😐
Still no love there apparently. I dunno, I've always loved the Focus' and since they don't make them anymore, this is as close as it gets.

It rubs a bit more than I thought, though this is a year and 25k miles worth of tire contact
Just occasional big dips

Only on driver side which I guess makes sense since I’m sitting on that side when it happens
