Ford dealership the other day getting the 15k mile service done and they make an upsale offer on a "two stage induction cleaner". One part goes in the tank and the other part is sprayed into an intake vacuum port to go directly onto the intake valve faces to clean off carbon build up.
Has anyone used this? And results? Would be alright if it actually works and could prevent having to walnut hull it after so many miles. But, does it work? Or is it $300 worth of snake oil?

Snake oil.
The 2025 and newer EcoBoost’s clean both sides of the valves now. DI and Port right ?

Engine Gurus !
Did I get it right ?

At 20,000 miles on my previous 2024 my Ford dealer talked me into a $22 can of
‘Mechanic in a can’ sum kind of cleaning stuff.
The service writer said it was not needed on the 2025 and newer mills.

The OP has a Di 24' but Yep the 25'-26' 2.0L has both Direct injection and Port injection to help clean the valves. My 24' Tremor 2.0L has DI only so any type of cleaner would only help the injectors since DI sprays no fuel behind the valves like port injection. So a cleaner on 25'-26' 2.0L would help keep the valves clean because fuel and cleaner is hitting the valves.

$50 snake oil & $250 labor. Although it is not snake oil to an automotive engineer or chemist. Effective stuff.

The gas tank stuff you could do yourself. Getting the intake cleaner into your throttle body is a pain. Pay the tech/mech for that if you have a 24 or maybe a 23. If you have a 22 and have never had an intake clean in a can - you risk blowing carbon chunks into your turbo blades.

Yeah mine is a '24 EcoBoost. The direct injection thing isn't one of the automotive industries better ideas when mixed with an EGR. I'm still thinking on whether to have it done or not. At the rate I drive (around 7-8k miles per year), the truck will aged out and have fallen apart before I get to 80k miles where I see carbon build up starting to be a problem.
