I installed a Kia auto-dimming mirror with compass and HomeLink, and it works (huzzah!). I used a plastic pry bar to get the housings down and the dome-light came down easily: just carefully pry at either side toward the rear and pull it out and down. The larger housing was far more challenging for me, but with careful prying and pulling it finally came down.Plastic pry tool, then just get your fingers in both sides and pull it down!
I used the video below as my 'how to' although my Maverick doesn't have a sunroof and I didn't have the same type of 'clips' on my housing. The wiring was not too hard to suss out. I don't typically take on this kind of mod but I really wanted HomeLink on my mirror and it worked out.
